AYR

Race 1 No1 GAILLIMH A STOR (Nap)
Trainer: Nick Alexander – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

The Alexander stable has a handful of fancied runners on this card, but none more so than GAILLIMH A STOR, who gained valuable experience of the course when beaten just a neck by the ultra-reliable Salvino at the beginning of the month. Having previously taken out a novice hurdle here back in March, the Nap knows every blade of grass and can shrug aside his penalty for that.

Race 3 No4 MAUGHOLD HEAD
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Sean Quinlan

Down Royal scorer Carnfunnock will occupy a large chunk of the betting handle on this contest, which makes the equally promising MAUGHOLD HEAD a value option. The selection ran into a smart opponent in Sizing Pottsie on his jumps introduction here last month and his learned bundles from that.

SOUTHWELL

Race 2 No10 COUPDEBOL
Trainer: Tom George – Jockey: Jonathan Burke

Little separates Gemirande and COUP DE BOL on the book, but their minor placings in the Hereford race won by Highstakesplayer can be turned round as the selection was making a first appearance in eight months and will strip a lot straighter. He’s run well in each of his races over fences, and almost certainly has more to offer.

Race 3 No3 ARDMAYLE
Trainer: Ali Stronge – Jockey: Brendan Powell

It took Zuckerberg a long time to get his head in front, and as a short-priced favourite under a penalty he could be worth opposing with ARDMAYLE, who ended last season with a victory over fences at this track and a second at Market Rasen. As long as he’s fit following a long absence, he should have the edge.

Race 5 No12 MRS GRIMLEY (Nap)
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Kielan Woods

Pauling is firing in winners at the minor tracks, which makes MRS GRIMLEY of particular appeal under her sex allowance in this maiden hurdle. Her bumper triumph here in the spring and earning run on debut over jumps at Newbury reads very strongly, and she can take full advantage of the 7lb she receives from winning pointer Red Dirt Road.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 2 No8 BRORA BREEZE (Each Way)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: William Cox

With the benefit of an eye taking run under her belt, Shirocco filly BRORA BREEZE should have more to offer as she takes a step up the distance ladder. Runners from her stable tend to improve a fair way for their first outing, and she has a good pitch three off the fence from which to get competitive.

Race 5 No1 ELTHAM PALACE
Trainer: David Simcock – Jockey: Olivia Haines

The recent winning form of ELTHAM PALACE looks very hard to match from anything in this field, granted the mare’s manner of delivery at Chelmsford. The same apprentice that steered her home last week is back on board, and off a 4lb higher mark a follow-up is on the cards.

Race 7 No3 CAPRICORN PRINCE (Nap)
Trainer: Gary Moore – Jockey: Rhys Clutterbuck

CAPRICORN PRINCE can welcome onto his back a jockey that won three times on him last winter, making him an attractive proposition over the track and trip over where he finished runner-up to Reelceltic last week. The selection has been lightly-raced since that flurry of success, and looks a bet worth waiting for.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 2 No5 ON EDGE (Each Way)
Trainer: Chris Mason – Jockey: Evie Young (7)

ON EDGE landed some good bets when scoring at Chepstow in the summer and would have added to his laurels but for racing too keenly and hanging. Cheek pieces helped him run straighter when he troubled the judge at Brighton last time, and the headgear is retained for this first run on sand since his debut more than 2 years ago.

Race 5 No11 BACCARAT BABY (Nap)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

Juvenile maiden races tend to be more precarious for punters at this time of year, but it will be a minor shock if BACCARAT BABY isn’t good enough to take this. Representing top connections, the daughter of Gleneagles went close on both outings in the spring, from a good draw should relish going over a longer trip.

Race 8 No2 EBURY (Each Way)
Trainer: Scott Dixon – Jockey: Luke Morris

Although out of the money on each of his last three outings, EBURY has been beaten an aggregate of less than 10 lengths and only needs to enjoy a slightly stronger rub of the green to post a first win for his trainer at the 23rd attempt.
