Race 3 No5 COVERT MISSION (Nap)
Trainer: Kevin Philippart De Foy – Jockey: Benoit De La Sayette
Form horse COVERT MISSION looks to add to a score of 1212 as he switches from Kempton to Lingfield. The former Irish-based gelding needs to show he’s as effective going left-handed, but if doing so should readily convert off just a 1lb higher mark.
Race 4 No1 COURT OF SESSION
Trainer: Simon Crisford – Jockey: James Doyle
COURT OF SESSION sets a high bar for those to whom he’s giving weight to aim at, and can fully endorse the dominance of his handicap debut triumph at Chelmsford. He looked to have more in hand than his margin of victory indicted, and should be up to defying a 6lb hike at the main expense of Dubai Immo.
MUSSELBURGH – 28/04/2022
Race 1 No5 JUNGLE TIME
Trainer: Karl Burke – Jockey: Saffie Osborne
JUNGLE TIME displayed good all round pace when second on his Yarmouth introduction last week. That experience gives him a big advantage over five newcomers, of whom Seagrave Fox is worth a market check and could prove dangerous if backed.
Race 3 No5 CARTER COWBOY (Nap)
Trainer: Richard Fahey – Jockey: Donal Nolan
Although only fourth at Beverley last week, CARTER COWBOY travelled ominously well turning into the straight and was squeezed for room at a vital point. He is better than the bare result indicates, and can make this an overdue first career success.
REDCAR – 28/04/2022
Race 2 No5 SIGNORINA MERISI (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Tom Marquand
Although largely unable to replicate what she shows at home on the racecourse, SIGNORINA MERISI has good each way claims in a handicap full of maidens. She put in a midfield finish when returning at Nottingham, and has come on for that. Of her rivals Rich King is an equally attractive horse regarding his odds, and is worth a saver.
Race 5 No7 EMILY POST (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Kevin Stott
Liangel Hope has had a few chances and is worth taking on with EMILY POST, who troubled the judge on both outings as a juvenile. The Charming Thought filly ran well in the hood that’s retained today at Thirsk and Newcastle, and will not be inconvenienced by this return to turf.
CHEPSTOW – 28/04/2022
Race 2 No1 ARCADIAN NIGHTS
Trainer: Mark Loughnane – Jockey: Richard Kingscote
ARCADIAN HEIGHTS picked up a couple of small races for his previous trainer last season and has got better with each outing for Loughnane in 2022. A second placing at Wolverhampton last time suggests he’s on the cusp of a return to winning ways.
Race 7 No2 AJERO (Nap)
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: Richard Kingscote
Former smart hurdler AJERO could be the way to go in this weakly contested novice. Lightly-raced over jumps last season, he won at Taunton before falling when an odds-on shot at Huntingdon, and can now pay his way for a trainer that’s done well with the few he’s run on the Flat over the years.
CHELMSFORD CITY – 28/04/2022
Race 2 No2 JOHN BETJEMAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Mark Gillard – Jockey: Joey Haynes
Dual purpose horse JOHN BETJEMAN arrives on the back of a handicap hurdle success at Ffos Las. He was a model of consistency with several earning efforts through the winter, and can make the most of this first run on sand for almost two years.
Race 5 No3 SATONO JAPAN
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Ryan Moore
SATONO JAPAN has been a head scratcher for his trainer, as he has plenty of ability but doesn’t always want to use it. First time back could be the occasion to see him belatedly visit the winner’s circle, and he’s shown in his work that he’s ready for this first outing since September.
Race 7 No2 TERRA MITICA (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Ryan Moore
Ulysses filly TERRA MITICA earned on both 2021 outings at Newmarket and Haydock and now switches to Polytrack, on which she has worked well at home. She has the best form, and can open her account.
