26/04/2022 – Tuesday’s Best Bets and Tips

26/04/2022

Neil Morrice outlines his best bets and tips for Tuesday’s British meetings at Brighton, Nottingham, Yarmouth and Ayr on 26/04/2022.

BRIGHTON – 26/04/2022

Race 1 No1 BETWEENTHESTICKS (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Darragh Keenan

BETWEENTHESTICKS shaped with a deal of promise to trouble the judge on his Bath introduction and has shown in his work that he’s derived great benefit from that experience. He has a great chance to open his account and is the best bet of the day.

Race 3 No2 HOFFMAN
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: David Probert

New Bay gelding HOFFMAN has only shown a modicum ability in three outings to gain a mark, but he’s expected to show improvement now handicapping for a trainer whose runners are in good order.

NOTTINGHAM – 26/04/2022

Race 1 No2 FAMILY TIES (Each Way)
Trainer: David O’Meara – Jockey: Danny Tudhope

Greenness cost FAMILY TIES on her debut at Newmarket where the Expert Eye filly found the penny dropping late in the game. Consequently he will start at a bigger price than he should on this second career start, and can get into the shake-up.

Race 2 No1 NEW DIMENSION
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Ryan Moore

Stoute saddles some talented horses on this card, beginning with NEW DIMENSION. The Ulysses colt impressed when scoring on his only outing at Leicester last year. He’s done well through the winter and can defy a penalty on the way to better things.

Race 4 No3 SUNRISE VALLEY (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Ryan Moore

In the same colours SUNRISE VALLEY can make a winning return to the track and is of particular interest on handicap debut. The daughter of Breeders’ Cup Mile hero Karakonie has shown in her work that she’s ready to make a winning start to the campaign, and is a filly to follow.

Race 5 No4 NOON STAR
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Ryan Moore

A win for Sunrise Valley would be good news for NOON STAR who by taking out this distaffers’ Listed contest can state her case for more lofty options ahead. The daughter of Galileo and Midday chased home subsequent Oaks winner Snowfall in York’s Musidora Stakes before posting a mid division finish in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot. She needs to be taken very seriously.

YARMOUTH – 26/04/2022

Race 6 No4 GODDESS OF FIRE
Trainer: John Ryan – Jockey: Laura Pearson

GODDESS OF FIRE was gameness personified when making every yard to score over course and distance last week. Now fitter than for that seasonal return, she can defy a 5lb penalty.

Race 7 No1 AJRAD (Nap)
Trainer: William Knight – Jockey: Callum Shepherd

ARJAD should prove a bet worth waiting for in the nightcap. The top weight shaped well to place on his comeback in a blanket finish at Lingfield and can improve on that with the aid of a first time hood.

AYR – 26/04/2022

Race 3 No3 SHALLOW HAL
Trainer: Karl Burke – Jockey: Sam James

There would be no more deserving a winner of this than SHALLOW HAL who has run well on three straight visits to the track this month but kept finding one to beat him. He retains the visor which was refitted for a narrow defeat on Polytrack last time.
