25/03/2022 – Friday’s Racing Tips

Neil Morrice outlines his best bets and tips for Friday’s British meetings at Hereford, Newton Abbot, Musselburgh and Newcastle on 25/03/2022.

HEREFORD – 25/03/2022

Race 3 No3 GREYSTOKE
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Tom Cannon

GREYSTOKE didn’t take to jumping as quickly as some of his trainer’s novices when out of the money at Warwick, but has been given plenty of time to recover from those exertions and undergo valuable practice. A much improved display is expected today.

Race 5 No5 DIAMOND ROSE (Nap)
Trainer: James Smith – Jockey: Harry Bannister

DIAMOND ROSE looks to be running into form and is the one with room for most progression off bottom weight in this mares’ handicap chase. She attracted a welter of support before finishing third to The Feckenham Fox at Fakenham, losses which can now be clawed back.

Race 7 No8 JUMPING JUPITER (Each Way)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Eddie Edge

Although a springer in the market, JUMPING JUPITER totally failed to menace on debut under Rules Wincanton. Beaten 59 lengths, he can show the form to be all wrong, as he’s learned from that disastrous start to his career and will be wiser.

NEWTON ABBOT – 25/03/2022

Race 4 No2 ENCOUNTER A GIANT
Trainer: Alistair Ralph – Jockey: Nick Schofield

ENCOUNTER A GIANT raised his game to take home a minor cheque in Tim Pat’s race at Haydock when not beaten far. The race should have brought him to concert pitch as he tries for a quick and further step towards outright success.

MUSSELBURGH – 25/03/2022

Race 2 No9 OLYMPE DE GOUGES (Nap)
Trainer: David Pipe – Jockey: Tom Scudamore

OLYMPE DE GOUGES posted a 25-1 shocker to open her account at Doncaster when there appeared to be no fluke about the performance. The Charming Thought filly is well in under a penalty and can prove too strong for course winner Collingham.

Race 6 No1 GARDE DES CHAMPS
Trainer: Keith Dalgleish – Jockey: Brian Hughes

Top weighed GARDE DES CHAMPS ran well on debut for his trainer at this track before Christmas and though beaten a long way when returning in the New Year might not have too much on his plate in this first handicap hurdle assignment.

NEWCASTLE – 25/03/2022

Race 6 No1 LYNNS BOY (Nap)
Trainer: Denis Quinn – Jockey: Marco Ghiani

LYNNS BOY looked good value for a runaway triumph when returning from a break at Southwell, and if turning up,in similar mood can a defy a 5lb penalty. The top weight is the only advice on a tricky card.
