AINTREE

Race 2 No9 SIR IVAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Harry Fry – Jockey: Lorcan Murtagh

SIR IVAN had his season cut short after pulling up at Exeter in February, but had earned in each of his four previous starts. This accurate jumper enjoys getting his toe into the ground, and with the ability to go well after a lay off can get into the shake-up.

Race 3 Jewson St Helen’s Old Road Limited Handicap Chase

No6 SOLDIER OF DESTINY (Nap)
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

From a stable that can do no wrong, SOLDIER OF DESTINY has to be afforded respect in his first run at this level. Since returning from a wind op in February the six-year-old was unlucky not to win on each of his three starts over fences, and also showed that he’s more at home on a left-handed track like today’s. He’s a horse with scope for further progression, and can stage a minor shock by thwarting the classy Hitman.

Race 6 No2 KINONDU KWETU
Trainer: Sam England – Jockey: Jonathan England

KINONDU KWETU has been a revelation with his nap hand of victories which incurred a rise from a rating of 107 to one of 124. He jumped up 8lb for his smooth Uttoxeter success last week, but in current mood will take plenty of stopping.

FFOS LAS

Race 2 No5 INVESTMENT MANAGER (Nap)
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Brandon Powell

After winning and finishing second on his first couple of outings last year, INVESTMENT MANAGER’s form deteriorated and he wasn’t seen after pulling up at Chepstow in mid-January. His trainer may well have sorted out an issue, and granted his proven ability to win when fresh, he needs supporting on this seasonal reappearance.

Race 3 No1 NEW FOUND FAME
Trainer: Kerry Lee – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

NEW FOUND FAME looked smart when bolting up from a much more experienced rival in a Uttoxeter novice hurdle last March, showing a liking for easy underfoot conditions in the process. The Fame And Glory gelding is one of the brightest hopes in his stable, and though opposed by a couple of equally well-regarded foes in Hymac and Spring Meadow, can bring his A-game to the table to remain unbeaten.

Race 5 No3 BOAGRIUS
Trainer: Tom George – Jockey: James Bowen

BOAGRIUS took his form to a new level when finishing second at Worcester in the summer, and going one better at the same venue at the beginning of this month. The ten-year-old seems to have turned a corner, and if jumping as well for his new pilot has a good chance of following up.
