21/12/2021 - Tuesday's Racing Tips

Neil Morrice provides tips for Plumpton as Hollywoodbets sponsors two races on the day’s card on 21/12/2021.

PLUMPTON – 21/12/2021

Race 1: BAREST OF MARGINS
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Jonathan Burke

In the money on both starts in bumpers, BAREST OF MARGINS finds himself in a convertible situation on debut over jumps. He will be suited by the tight track, and if jumping satisfactorily should be competitive.

Race 2: MOSSY FEN (Nap)
Trainer: Christian Williams – Jockey: Nick Schofield

Former winning Irish pointer MOSSY FEN gets the vote by process of elimination in this triangular contest. He can be forgiven an underwhelming run when pulled up in a hot novice chase at Cheltenham won by Protektorat, and before that posted three impressive successes in novice hurdles. He remains a horse with abundant potential, while his rivals Burrows Edge and Pasvolsky have bigger question marks next to their names.

Race 7: RED WINDSOR
Trainer: Chris Gordon – Jockey: Tom Cannon

RED WINDSOR chased home a useful foe in Duke Of Rockingham on debut under Rules at Uttoxeter. The locally-trained four-year-old can now get the better of the only other runner with public form, Delta Run.

AYR – 21/12/2021

Race 1: PARISENCORE (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Brian Hughes

Sure Touch looked a difficult ride at Southwell, and a safer bet is PARISENCORE. The selection was in a warmer contest when second to Since Day One at Newcastle and after also running into the money on his first outing over jumps at Kelso is the one to beat.

Race 3: NELLS SON
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Brian Hughes

In what could prove a good day for the Richards-Hughes combo, NELLS SON can make it four wins on the bounce by taking out this novices’ hurdle. The six-year-old looked strong at the end of his first win over jumps at Kelso, suggesting he will be suited by this longer trip.

NEWCASTLE – 21/12/2021

Race 2: SAULIRE STAR
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Duran Fentiman

SAULIRE STAR can show the benefit of a change of scenery by putting in an earning run on a first visit to Gosforth Park. The Awtaad filly lacked the necessary change of gear to put any of her races to bed last season but this could be the day to support her.

Race 3: BLACKJACK
Trainer: Alan Brown – Jockey: Dale Swift

BLACKJACK started a 50-1 outsider on debut here, but the so called no-hoper produced a smart turn of foot to put the race to bed. The Sleeping Indian gelding looked good value for his margin of victory and can defy a 6lb penalty.

Race 4: KABOO (Nap)
Trainer: Karl Burke – Jockey: Clifford Lee

KABOO was thought highly enough of to debut in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot for which he started 15-2 after attracting hefty support. Though unable to cut the mustard that day he was subsequently placed in a Listed race at Sandown and outclassed his foes on his all-weather debut over this course and distance in September. With that confidence boosting success behind him he can now defy a 7lb penalty.
