19/11/2021 – Friday’s Racing Tips

19/11/2021

Neil Morrice provides us with his best bets and tips for Friday’s racing at Ascot, Catterick Bridge and Chepstow.

ASCOT – 19/11/2021

Race 2 No2 TORN AND FRAYED (Nap)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

The way TORN AND FRAYED stuck to his guns on chase debut at Cheltenham suggests the gelding has a bright future in that division. He was beaten just over three lengths by Annual Invictus who has given the form a subsequent boost. Furthermore, the selection will have learned plenty from that first outing of the season.

Race 4 No8 GUY
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

Getting weight from everything in the race, GUY can endorse the promise of his good run to chase home Senior Citizen at Market Rasen last month. His five outings over fences have yielded a 1234-2 profile, making him likely to uphold that form.

Race 5 No8 EDDIEMAURICE (Each Way)
Trainer: John Flint – Jockey: Robbie Dunne

EDDIEMAURICE comes with risks attached as he usually takes a run or two to come to himself. This is quite a competitive race for him to return in, but if straighter than in previous seasons on return will be hard to keep out of the money from his mark.

Race 7 No3 BADDESLEY
Trainer: Chris Gordon – Jockey: Tom Cannon

BADDESLEY came back from an enforced lay off to earn in back-to-back novice hurdles and should now be cherry ripe for this long distance novices’ handicap hurdle. He has a lot fewer miles on his racing clock than his foes, and can take this before his trainer considers a chase campaign for him.

CATTERICK BRIDGE – 19/11/2021

Race 5 No1 MINELLA PLUS (Nap)
Trainer: Donald McCain Jnr – Jockey: Brian Hughes

With the addition of a first-time hood MINELLA PLUS readily opened his account at Musselburgh to give his confidence level a timely boost. The four-year-old is strongly fancied to serve up a similar display with former champion Hughes back in the saddle.

Race 7 No7 RIVER WALK
Trainer: Donald McCain Jnr – Jockey: Brian Hughes

RIVER WALK has a good pedigree for jumping and is the source of good vibes on his introduction in the concluding bumper. The Scorpion gelding can further boost the excellent form of the McCain stable.

CHEPSTOW – 19/11/2021

Race 2 No5 INVESTMENT MANAGER (Nap)
Trainer: Colin Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell

Having formed part of a Tizzard 1-2 when chasing home stablemate Strking A Pose at Exeter last February, INVESTMENT MANAGER made no mistake on his Newbury return, revelling in the heavy ground to come home unchallenged. The five-year-old is one to take seriously and can follow-up on the way to running up a sequence.

Race 6 No1 BALLYGOE (Each Way)
Trainer: Chris Down – Jockey: David Noonan

BALLYGOE defied his 40-1 starting price to run into the money on debut for his trainer at this course last month. It was a most encouraging start by the former Irish pointer who can consolidate with another earning effort.
