Race 1 No3 FLYING SPIRIT
Trainer: Heather Main – Jockey: Joanna Mason
Harry Angel colt FLYING SPIRIT looked to get the job done with a bit up his sleeve on nursery debut at Lingfield and can further raise his game to defy a 5lb penalty. He doesn’t have the best of draws, but with every other box ticked he’s worth supporting.
Race 2 No9 SEAGRAVE FOX (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
SEAGRAVE FOX hasn’t managed to get out of his own way in three outings on turf, but could prove a different proposition switched to sand and now competing in a handicap. The colt has a good sprinting pedigree and hails from a stable that can suddenly improve an individual of his ilk.
Race 3 No1 SUPASPECIALAWESOME (Nap)
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: Jack Mitchell
Simply by name SUPASPECIALAWESOME was given a lot to live up to but the chestnut has aspired in both career starts to finish second at Wolverhampton and then Kempton. He went down in a photo last time, and granted a bit more progression can open his account from market rival Abbey’s Dream.
Race 5 No4 MACHO MANIA
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: Jack Mitchell
The same trainer and jockey combo can strike with MACHO MANIA who deserves a change of luck following two near misses. The Camacho gelding attracted plenty of support when beaten a neck by De Bruyne at Newcastle and can recoup those losses at the main expense of Sergeant Pep.
Race 8 No3 WARD CASTLE
Trainer: Marco Botti – Jockey: Stefano Cherchi
WARD CASTLE rarely finishes out of the money but has struggled to put his head in front. The addition of different types of headgear have had a marginally positive effect, but his latest offering when beaten a whisker at Southwell was his best, and indicates he can at last break his duck.
