EXETER
Race 3 No1 VISION DES FLOS (Nap)
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Freddie Gingell
Superior jumping proved keynote to the success of VISION DES FLOS at Warwick on his latest outing, after his shrewd handler had given him a pop over hurdles which almost resulted in victory. Those last two efforts indicate he’s turned a corner, and if getting into his trademark rhythm he should prove hard to catch.
Race 5 No2 PENS MAN
Trainer: Jonjo O’Neill – Jockey: Jonjo O’Neill Jr
Frequent winner PENS MAN notched a clear cut triumph at Southwell in the summer only to be brought down early in his follow-up attempt at Bangor. None the worse for that mishap, he’s been found a good opportunity to make this a fourth career win over fences, while his stable is amongst the winners.
YARMOUTH
Race 1 No10 SHERBET FOUNTAIN (Nap)
Trainer: David Simcock – Jockey: Jamie Spencer
SHERBET FOUNTAIN was all the rage before her Kempton introduction when finishing third as a 2-1 favourite behind Perfect Prophet. Her cause was handicapped by greenness, but the daughter of Twirling Candy will be more streetwise for this latest foray to the track, and can with a win start repaying her elevated purchase price.
Race 2 No3 FOLK STAR (Each Way)
Trainer: David Simcock – Jockey: Jamie Spencer
The same trainer/jockey combo could have the answer to division 2 of the novice with another well-related filly in the form of FOLK STAR. The daughter of Le Havre was easy to back when being beaten by more than she beat at Windsor, but like many of the Simcock juveniles the chestnut will go forward, and she can earn.
Race 3 No6 LADY DREAMER
Trainer: Tom Ward – Jockey: Hector Crouch
LADY DREAMER holds the cards in this fillies’ novice after narrowly missing out on both her outings this season. She outperformed her 40-1 SP on debut at Newbury and was only just denied when switched to Polytrack at Kempton. Granted normal, progression into this third run she should open her account.
Race 6 No12 DURLEY GIRL (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Rose Dawes
DURLEY GIRL isn’t the obvious answer to this sprint handicap, but the Coulsty filly is not without ability and has an in form apprentice riding her for the first time. The combination are a sporting bet to earn at generous odds.
NEWCASTLE
Race 2 No11 DEEPDALE (Each Way)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: PJ McDonald
Tasleet filly DEEPDALE gained useful experience of this course when taking home a cheque on her debut at the end of last month. She wasn’t given any more than a tap with the whip and can come on in leaps and bounds with the benefit of that readying run under her belt.
Race 5 No14 WATER OF LEITH (Each Way)
Trainer: Jim Goldie – Jockey: Sam James
WATER OF LEITH was only two and a half lengths behind winner Temple Bruer when sixth in a competitive Class3 here last month. Granted that was a first all-weather run for his trainer, and a first since June, he can take advantage of a good mark to trouble the judge and has plenty of stable confidence behind him.
KEMPTON PARK
Race 2 No1 SOLITARY TREES
Trainer: George Boughey – Jockey: James Doyle
As the only horse that’s been in good form, and blessed with a rail draw from which he should quickly assume a good stalking position, SOLITARY TREES makes the most appeal in this nursery. The Churchill gelding has hardly put a foot wrong since being sent down the nursery route with two wins and two seconds from five starts. His Chelmsford success came at a mile and a quarter, but he is just as effective at tonight’s mile trip.
Race 7 No1 BIBULOUS (Nap)
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Dane O’Neill
BIBULOUS did everything right after being supported at Ffos Las, only to get mugged in the last few strides by Dora Penny. He’s a strapping individual, and too good not to have won for connections this season. From a plum draw, he is napped to put the record straight.
