HAMILTON PARK

Race 2 No3 FOX HILL (Each Way)
Trainer: Eric Alston – Jockey: Jason Hart

Foxwedge mare FOX HILL takes the eye with blinkers added in this fillies’ sprint handicap. The six-year-old scored in a first-time visor at Nottingham in early June and has since run well in all but one of her six outings. Her preference for cut in the ground, added to the new headgear can bring with it a deserved victory.

Race 6 No1 CLAN JOCK (Nap)
Trainer: Jim Goldie – Jockey: Cam Hardie

The consistency shown by CLAN JOCK this year makes him an owners’ dream, and gives him a great chance of defying joint top weight in this long-distance handicap. He’s either won or finished second in his last six visits to this track, and is going to be in his comfort zone moved back up to a mile and a half.

Race 7 No7 SALVE JAPAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: Saffie Osborne

The inexperience of SALVE JAPAN doesn’t mean the daughter of Dabirsim can’t put her best foot forward in this three-year-old-only nightcap. It was only in a three-horse race that she finished second at Carlisle, but it makes her hard for the assessor to weight up, and with apprentice Osborne back in the plate she can take home a cheque on handicap debut.

PLUMPTON

Race 3 No1 MR FREEDOM (Nap)
Trainer: Sheena West – Jockey: Marc Goldstein

MR FREEDOM looked a natural for hurdling when routing the opposition on his second outing at Fontwell. His trainer excels with horses by Sixties Icon she sources from the Mick Channon stable. Mr Freedom is a case in point, and he’s got the scope to defy a 7lb penalty.

Race 5 No4 BAREST OF MARGINS
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Conor O’Farrell

BAREST OF MARGINS can demonstrate with a first chasing success in this two miles handicap how unlucky he’s been not to deliver in three previous outings over fences. He did nothing wrong when chasing home Getaway Jewel at Market Rasen and was in total command when crumpling on landing at the second last fence at Uttoxeter. Ridden more patiently, he then stayed on well for second against runaway scorerWhite Turf at Bangor. He’s a very good lead horse at home, and his northern-based rider has embarked on a train and car ride to take the mount.

Race 6 No1 CADEAU D’OR
Trainer: David Pipe – Jockey: Tom Scudamore

CADEAU D’OR raised his game to put in a career-best for this stable following a wind op and wearing a first-time tongue tie at Newton Abbot. The former winning Flat handicapper has scope to make further progression against mainly out-of-form opponents.

Race 7 No3 INVICTUS DE BRION
Trainer: Chris Gordon – Jockey: Tom Cannon

The Gordon stable rarely leaves this fixture empty-handed, which augers well for INVICTUS DE BRION taking out the concluding bumper. My selection needed the experience when second on his debut under Rules at Southwell and can triumph in what will be a tactically run affair.
