15/10/2021 – Friday’s Racing Tips

15/10/2021

Neil Morrice provides Friday’s tips for meetings at Redcar, Haydock, Fakenham, Uttoxeter and Newcastle on 15/10/2021.

HAYDOCK PARK – 15/10/2021

Race 3: CHAIRMANOFTHEBOARD (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: William Buick

Buick can put one on the board in a crucial day of his title bid on CHAIRMANOFTHEBOARD. Everything seems right for the so far unlucky five-year-old to notch an overdue first success of the season. Not only has the ground eased in his favour, but he has a good draw and rates a winner without a penalty after getting stopped a couple of times en route to his short-head defeat at York last month. Granted room for manoeuvre this time, he can take the spoils.

Race 5: KING OF YORK
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Andrea Atzeni

Ryan likes to bring his better juveniles to Haydock, and his runner KING OF YORK rates the value play in this second division of the novice. The Kingman gelding could have an experience edge on his foes, having been denied by a whisker on third career start at Carlisle before running respectfully in a warm nursery at Ayr last time.

Race 6: TWISTED REALITY (Each Way)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

TWISTED REALITY could be the joker in the pack on only her second run in a handicap. Her early season second to Eshaada at Newbury reads particularly well, while though disappointing in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot, her very presence in that Group 2 tells you how highly she’s regarded be her astute handler. She might well have needed her latest outing, which came after a three month absence, and if so can give reigning champ Murphy a handy winner in his bid to make it three championships on the bounce.

Race 8: WHITEHAVEN
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

A step up to this stayers’ trip should be a bonus to top weight WHITEHAVEN, who looks to avenge a paper-thin defeat when a well backed favourite at Salisbury on the final day of September. Interestingly, theLe Havre gelding completed a fine hat-trick in the soft and heavy at this time last year, and though much higher in the weights could still have more progression to come.

REDCAR – 15/10/2021

Race 1: FLASH BETTY
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: David Egan

FLASH BETTY has remained in good order throughout a long season and based on her excellent effort to place in a Pontefract nursery last time has leading claims to take advantage of this drop into claiming company.

Race 5: DIVINE JEWEL (Nap)
Trainer: Roger Varian – Jockey: David Egan

Frankel filly DIVINE JEWEL made a pleasing start when narrowly denied at Nottingham. Granted normal progression she will be hard to beat in this interesting heat.

FAKENHAM – 15/10/2021

Race 3: GO MILLIE GO (Nap)
Trainer: Stuart Edmunds – Jockey: Ciaran Gethings

The best of GO MILLIE GO was always likely to be seen as a chaser, and on a first visit to this Norfolk track she can show that fences bring out the best in her. She’s been well prepared for the switch and should outclass her opponents.

Race 4: MIDNIGHT JEWEL
Trainer: Charlie Longsdon – Jockey: Tom Buckley

Since his move to Longsdon MIDNIGHT JEWEL has been a captain of industry, winning three handicap hurdles and placing in five more. Under a 7lb penalty for a clear cut Huntingdon win he can complete a fine hat-trick.

UTTOXETER – 15/10/2021

Race 3: TRINCOMALEE (Nap)
Trainer: Lucy Wadham – Jockey: Bryony Frost

TRINCOMALEE has shown he operates on return from a break, was in good order when last seen in May and could be a well-handicapped horse to follow in the final months of the year. All his wins have happened on left-handed tracks, and he should be happy on this first visit to Uttoxeter.

NEWCASTLE – 15/10/2021

Race 5: SIXCOR (Each Way)
Trainer: Linda Perrett – Jockey: James Sullivan

SIXCOR has earned in five of his nine outings for Perrett and could have more to offer on this first all-weather outing for her. He got himself handicapped in three races on sand with his former handler, and while away from it since the early spring, he’s trained encouragingly on it at home.
