14/07/2022 – Thursday’s Best Bets and Tips

14/07/2022

Neil Morrice provides us with his best bets and tips for Thursday’s race meetings at Chepstow, Hamilton Park, Leicester, Worcester and Epsom Downs on 14/07/2022.

CHEPSTOW – 14/07/2022

Race 2 No7 REDREDROBIN (Nap)
Trainer: Malcolm Saunders – Jockey: William Carson

From a stable with a good record here, REDREDROBIN can improve on three solid efforts this season to post a career first triumph. The mare has found her level at this seven furlongs distance and can show her appreciation for a return to turf.

Race 3 No3 GLAMOROUS BREEZE
Trainer: Christopher Mason – Jockey: William Cox

Cable Bay filly GLAMOROUS BREEZE has been similarly consistent this season and would be a deserving winner at a track where she gained her only previous success. She failed to back up some good bets with a conversion at Bath last time, but can show those losses to be merely lent.

HAMILTON PARK – 14/07/2022

Race 2 No5 RAIN CAP (Each Way)
Trainer: John Riches – Jockey: Sean Kirrane

RAIN CAP, who was a virtual give away when changing stables three years ago, can make this a third success for Riches and endorse his liking for the Glasgow suburbs track. Though yet to win here he’s earned on his last two visits, and suggested with an earning run at Catterick last time that he’s getting ready to deliver.

Race 7 No1 CANARIA PRINCE (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Duran Fentiman

CANARIA PRINCE gamely prevailed from the front at Beverley on Tuesday to score with ears pricked. He drops into a classified as his connections go for a quick follow-up, and can put in a carbon copy display.

LEICESTER – 14/07/2022

Race 4 No4 MAJESTIC FIGHTER (Nap)
Trainer: Roger Charlton – Jockey: James Doyle

MAJESTIC FIGHTER can prove too sprightly for his mainly older rivals after returning from a two months break following a paper-thin defeat at Doncaster. The chestnut looked happy at that mile trip and on only a sixth career start has scope for further progression.

Race 8 No3 ARMY OF ONE
Trainer: Mitchell Hunt – Jockey: Rob Hornby

Distaffers could hold sway in the nightcap, but for sheer consistency five-year-old mare ARMY OF ONE looks the most likely winner. She’s threatened to deliver with narrow defeats at Bath and Windsor, having improved for a switch from all-weather to a grass surface.

WORCESTER – 14/07/2022

Race 2 No7 PRINCESS MIDNIGHT (Nap)
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell

Few trainers have made such an immediate impact on obtain8ng a licence than Tizzard, whose PRINCESS MIDNIGHT makes plenty of appeal at the base of the weights in this handicap chase. She has a good pedigree for the job, and appeared to score with plenty still in the tank on her latest start at Worcester.

Race 5 No8 DYNAMIC KATE (Each Way)
Trainer: Neil Mulholland – Jockey: Adam Wedge

Perennial bridesmaid DYNAMIC KATE can rise to the occasion now that her trainer has added first time cheek pieces to her armoury. The six-year-old has chased a few shadows in posting 2343-3 figures n her last five outings, and deserves to enjoy the rub of the green and post a first career win.

Race 7 No5 MIDNIGHT JEWEL (Each Way)
Trainer: Charlie Longsdon – Jockey: Lilly Pinchin

Although he’s been off the track for nine months, MIDNIGHT JEWEL should emerge as a force to be reckoned with in this handicap hurdle. The six-year-old seemed to grow in confidence and was a winner of three of his last six starts last summer and autumn. He can prove a powerful arrow to his trainer’s team of summer jumpers.

EPSOM DOWNS – 14/07/2022

Race 3 No4 WISPER (Nap)
Trainer: Marcus Tregoning – Jockey: Dougie Costello

WISPER has shown a preference for a switchback course, posting three successes at Brighton in a campaign dominated by that seaside track. On a first visit to Epsom, she can demonstrate with another win that she’s still very much in her comfort zone racing on undulations.

Race 5 No4 CITY VAULTS
Trainer: David O’Meara – Jockey: Jason Watson

Hat-trick seeking Ideal Guest is the obvious pick, but if there’s a hole in him CITY VAULTS can be the one to exploit it. The northern raider is a well related individual, unexposed and capable of causing the favourite problems in receipt of 16lb.
