Neil Morrice shares his tips for Monday’s racing at Brighton, Thirsk, Worcester and Kempton Park on 13/09/2021.
BRIGHTON – 13/09/2021
Race 1: GREAT NEWS
Trainer: Saeed Bin Suroor – Jockey: Hayley Turner
Course specialist Mamillius is respected but preference is for the other joint top weight GREAT NEWS. The grey is a lightly-raced late developer and can better his second to Bowman on the Lingfield Polytrack, form that has been boosted by his conqueror.
THIRSK- 13/09/2021
Race 2: PNEUMATIC (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Tom Marquand
PNEUMATIC makes his nursery debut from the top of the weights in a competitive heat, but the son of Churchill showed a bit more when obtaining his mark at Salisbury and will surely be happier going down the handicap route. On a fourth career start he should know enough to get into the money for the first time.
Race 8: MARVEL
Trainer: Julie Camacho – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan
MARVEL hasn’t managed to live up to his name in spite of having abundant talent. This 17-race maiden travels through his races well, while often flattering to deceive, but if on a going day could prove a surprise package.
WORCESTER – 13/09/2021
Race 2: REGABY
Trainer: Ian Williams – Jockey: Liam Harrison
REGABY avenged an unlucky defeat at Newton Abbot when scoring with a bit up his sleeve at Hexham and can add to his laurels in this conditional jockeys’ handicap chase. He will receive good assistance from the saddle in this follow-up attempt.
Race 3: THE GOLDEN REBEL
Trainer: Ben Case – Jockey: Mr J Andrews
THE GOLDEN REBEL showed he operates well off a break when an unchallenged winner of a maiden hurdle at Doncaster back in January. While unable to build on that in two subsequent outings, he needs to be taken seriously on this chase debut as he jumps well and could get onto an easy lead.
KEMPTON PARK – 13/09/2021
Race 1: GREATNESS AWAITS
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: James Doyle
While his wide draw is not ideal, GREATNESS AWAITS has a good chance of following-up his facile Chepstow success before the handicapper gets the chance to reassess him. The Clodovil colt landed some good bets on that occasion and the win has done wonders for his confidence level.
Race 4: PSYCHIC CHANGE
Trainer: David Menuisier – Jockey: William Buick
PSYCHIC CHANGE handled the Epsom undulations when third on debut behind Beautiful Sunrise. The Due Diligence filly can benefit from a cut back in distance to six furlongs and is strongly fancied to open her account.
