Neil Morrice gives us his tips for Monday’s British meetings at Brighton, Thirsk, Worcester and Kempton Park on 12/09/2022.

BRIGHTON – 12/09/2022

Race 1 No3 WHISTLEDOWN
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: George Bass

WHISTLEDOWN is effective on a switchback course and gets on well with her apprentice rider. However, he was too confident for his own good on the filly at Epsom last time where the combination failed to get to Blue Collar Lad. Second on her only previous visit to this course, she appeals as a winner without a penalty, and can go one better.

Race 6 No2 REDREDROBIN (Nap)
Trainer: Malcolm Saunders – Jockey: Charlie Bennett

REDREDROBIN was well on top at the finish of his race at Chepstow two weeks ago to make her figures 2241221 in as many starts this season. Saunders excels with this sort of individual, and having twice gone close at this track she can make it third time lucky.

THIRSK – 12/09/2022

Race 2 No17 KNIGHTS ARTIST (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Duran Fentiman

Caravaggio colt KNIGHTS ARTIST made token improvement on his latest on three starts at Catterick to earn himself a handicap mark. He’s been very easy to back on each occasion, but could easily leave previous efforts behind on this nursery debut.

Race 3 No9 IN THESE SHOES (Nap)
Trainer: Mark Johnston – Jockey: Jason Hart

Godolphin runner Tabaretta will attract plenty of support in this novice stakes but market rival IN THESE SHOES could have his measure. The latter, a daughter of Starspangledbanner, made the useful SecretAngel fight for the spoils on her Carlisle introduction, and will be a lot more streetwise now.

Race 5 No1 HEARTBREAK LASS
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Ben Curtis

Candy has secured top northern pilot Curtis for HEARTBREAK LASS, who was a game winner on Polytrack last time but now needs to raise her game in order to defy a penalty. She showed she handles turf by finishing second on her debut at Windsor, and will probably have too many guns for Proclivity.

WORCESTER – 12/09/2022

Race 3 No4 CLEAR THE RUNWAY (Nap)
Trainer: Laura Morgan – Jockey: Brian Hughes

CLEAR THE RUNWAY is the winner of five of his last seven starts and has been popular in the betting on each occasion. He seems just as effective over fences and hurdles, and his style of racing should lend itself to another big earning run on a first visit to this track. He needs to be waited with to pounce late, and was unlucky to be beaten on the only time Hughes rode him, where a mistake cost him the race at Market Rasen.

Race 5 No1 DONNIE AZOFF
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

DONNIE AZOFF has looked a better horse since returning from a wind operation, and gave multiple scorer Fire Lake plenty to think about in a maiden hurdle at Stratford in July. If building on that the chestnut can open his account over jumps.

KEMPTON PARK – 12/09/2022

Race 1 No7 ROWDOWN ROSA
Trainer: Mark Usher – Jockey: David Probert

ROWDOWN ROSA has upped her game with successive earning efforts since going down the nursery route. The Charm Spirit filly was narrowly denied over this course and distance last month, and is well drawn to go one better.

Race 2 No8 REBEL ANGEL (Each Way)
Trainer: Mark Usher – Jockey: Tyler Heard

The same stable can be in the ascent with Outstrip filly REBEL ANGEL. The grey started 80-1 on her debut, then as a 28-1 chance raised her game to take home a cheque at Lingfield. If making normal improvement from that effort she should again trouble the judge, while having the ability to win.

Race 4 No7 SYDNEY MEWS (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: David Probert

SYDNEY MEWS made up her ground quickly after a moderate start on her latest outing at Epsom, and was eventually run out of third in the race won by Chartwell House. It was a very pleasing effort that qualified theNew Bay filly for handicaps, and having worked well on a similar surface to Polytrack she can now put her best foot forward.

Race 5 No7 TREBLE JOY
Trainer: Gary Moore – Jockey: Rhys Clutterbuck

Although TREBLE JOY has found one to beat him on all three starts this year there is nothin ungenuine about him. He’s entitled to go well from a peach of a draw, and should give previous winner Pretending plenty to think about.
