HEREFORD

Race 2 No2 GETAWAY DRUMLEE (Nap)
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Kielan Woods

GETAWAY DRUMLEE brings winning point from Ireland to the table on his debut for Ben Pauling. The trainer has made a cracking start to the season, and this new recruit is fancied to down Plumpton scorer Times Are Blue.

Race 7 No11 GETAWAY CORY (Each Way)
Trainer: Kayley Woollacott – Jockey: Ben Godfrey

GETAWAY CORY is well weighted to better a strong of good efforts troubling the judge through the summer. Interestingly he seems as effective on good or softer ground, and returns from a freshening break.

HUNTINGDON

Race 1 No5 BARN OWL
Trainer: Gary Moore – Jockey: Jamie Moore

Frankel colt BARN OWL was highly tried on his first season on the Flat for the Moores. A wind operation hasn’t made any obvious difference to him, but having enjoyed his schooling at home he can go in at the first time of asking on this hurdles debut.

Race 4 No3 PHOENIX AQUILIUS
Trainer: Seamus Durack – Jockey: Aidan Coleman

The one with room for plenty of improvement returned to jumps is PHOENIX AQUILUS. He hasn’t been seen at the winter game for almost a year, but failed narrowly to take the spoils on that occasion, and has always promised to prove better over jumps than he was on the Flat.

Race 5 No5 CALL OF THE LOON (Nap)
Trainer: Christian Williams – Jockey: Jack Tudor

With all of the five runners having been in regular earning form this isn’t an easy one to call, but CALL OF THE LOON hasn’t done anything wrong in two outings for his trainer, scoring at Stratford and chasing home a rejuvenated Nelsons Rock at Fontwell. He should have more to offer for a return to winning ways.

LEICESTER

Race 2 No1 HIGHBANK (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Appleby – Jockey: William Buick

HIGHBANK is a well-regarded Godolphin winner who appears to hold the cards even though he’s carrying a penalty in this novice stakes. The son of Kingman made a hack of his stablemate Bold Act on debut at Newmarket only to be rolled over when an odds-on shot in Newbury’s Haynes, Hanson And Clark Stakes. It now seems he bumped into a very useful foe in Stormbuster that day, and there’s nothing of his calibre in this field.

Race 3 No7 WHAT AN ICON (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: George Bass

WHAT AN ICON finished in the ruck but wasn’t beaten that far on her nursery debut at Wolverhampton. The Sixties Icon filly was returning from a short break, and can build on the run to take home a cheque in this weak heat.

Race 4 No6 UNION COURT
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Tom Marquand

Based on her four lengths defeat by The Platinum Queen at Goodwood in July, UNION COURT holds strong claims in this conditions race. She’s contested three Listed races and a valuable Sales race in subsequent efforts, and after finishing just out of the money in the latter, can now come good.

NEWCASTLE

Race 3 No3 DUNGEON
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

DUNGEON hails from a family that gets better with racing experience, being out of a Breeders’ Cup Filly And Mare Turf winner. He showed a glimmer of ability when taking home a minor cheque on his reappearance at Yarmouth, and if going forward from that can prove a more competitive factor in this longer maiden.

Race 6 No3 WASDALE (Nap)
Trainer: Julie Camacho – Jockey: Oisin McSweeney

WASDALE ran out a clear cut winner of her nursery debut at this track to make it two successes from only three outings on Tapeta. She is clearly progressing, and should prove hard to beat from her revised mark.
