11/04/2022 – Monday’s Best Bets and Tips

11/04/2022

Neil Morrice outlines his best bets and tips for Monday’s British meetings at Hexham, Pontefract and Windsor on 11/04/2022.

HEXHAM – 11/04/2022

Race 2 No2 HIDOR DE BERSY
Trainer: Tom Symonds – Jockey: Aidan Coleman

HIDOR DE BERSY was no match for Knickerbockerglory at Ludlow but finds himself in calmer waters for this novices’ hurdle. He’s a progressive individual and should prevail in what looks a straight match with the other penalised runner Hatos.

Race 3 No2 MARSH WREN
Trainer: Stuart Edmunds – Jockey: Ciaran Gethings

If there’s one that could take down odds-on Fonzarelli in this mares’ novices’ hurdle then MARSH WREN is a top candidate. The selection had a bad off day when beaten over a distance by her rival at Doncaster, but if back on song and in receipt of 5lb, can make a race of it.

Race 7 No9 SAINT BIBIANA (Nap)
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: David Bass

A rare runner here for the Bailey stable, SAINT BOBIANA should prove very hard to beat. She’s run well on both bumper outings, and took a big leap forward to chase home Issuing Authority at Uttoxeter. She belied odds of 20-1 that day, but will be a much shorter order for a race she should win today.

PONTEFRACT – 11/04/2022

Race 1 No6 LEGEND OF XANADU
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Darragh Keenan

Named after the Dave,Dee,Dozy,Beaky,Mick and Titch single from the Sixties, LEGEND OF XANADU has shown promise in his preparatory work for this. The son of Sixties Icon can put his print in the outcome in one way or another.

Race 3 No1 ROAMIN IN GLOAMIN
Trainer: Karl Burke – Jockey: Clifford Lee

The visored ROAMIN IN GLOAMIN has had a few chances, but could now be in the right race to deliver. He’s looked more assured in a visor, and was beaten only threequarters of a length on first handicap venture at Southwell. He can make his experience edge count on this first run on grass since his November 2021 debut.

Race 7 No1 ESKEN ROSE (Nap)
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Kevin Stott

The course winning form of ESKEN ROSE reads well in this fillies’ novice. Under a 7lb penalty for that success the daughter of Hootenanny should still prove very hard to beat.

WINDSOR – 11/04/2022

Race 6 No3 CHIMED (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Ryan Moore

My best news in an interesting maiden concerns Frankel colt CHIMED. Although easy to back on his Kempton introduction he stayed on well to trouble the judge, and has pleased connections in his preparation for this turf debut. He can prove a first winner with his first runner this season for Stoute.

Race 7 No2 HE’S A LATCHCO
Trainer: Gary Moore – Jockey: Ryan Moore

Buoyed by a fine hat-trick on the all-weather, HE’S A LATCHCO can shown that he’s just as effective on turf. It was at this level that the gelding a month ago, looking as if there should be more to come.
