10/11/2021 – Wednesday’s Racing Tips

10/11/2021

Neil Morrice provides his best bets and tips for today’s racing at Bang-Or-Dee, Exeter and Kempton Park.

BANGOR-ON-DEE – 10/11/2021

Race 1 No9 DO IT FOR THY SEN
Trainer: Kerry Lee – Jockey: Jamie Moore

Hat-trick seeker DO IT FOR THY SEN has made notable progression since cheek pieces were added, and looked good value for each of his successes at Southwell in the late spring. If fit from an almost six months absence he will make his presence felt.

Race 2 No8 VIENNA COURT (Each Way)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Jordan Nailor

VIENNA COURT’s form has been underwhelming since she made the switch to fences, although her minor earning runs have happened at Grade 1 tracks like Newbury and Cheltenham. Most of the mares in this novices’ chase are returning from long absences on seasonal bows, and are competing on a level playing field. However she’s been working well, and could raise her game this winter.

Race 3 No2 CANELO
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Tom Cannon

This very competitive feature can go to CANELO, whose two successes over fences last season included the Rowland Meyrick Handicap Chase at Wetherby. The eight-year-old met with a couple of subsequent defeats at Doncaster and signed off by falling as a 66-1 roughie in the Grand National. Canelo has been given plenty of time to recover from that reverse, and should go well for a stable that’s amongst the winners.

Race 7 No1 UNIVERSAL DAVE (Nap)
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Tom Cannon

UNIVERSAL DAVE appeals as the banker on this card. A stablemate of Canelo, he’s on a hat-trick after landing a Punchestown bumper and then a Ffos Las maiden hurdle on debut for King last month. He faces a couple of unexposed rivals under a penalty, but should nevertheless prove hard to beat.

EXETER – 10/11/2021

Race 4 No7 FANFAN DU SEUIL
Trainer: Tom George – Jockey: Jonathan Burke

If in the same form he showed when second to Peltwell on seasonal reappearance at Huntingdon, FANFAN DU SEUIL should give hot favourite Tulin plenty to think about in receipt of almost a stone from that rival. The six-year-old could easily have turned a corner, with that form boosted by the winner following-up.

Race 5 No4 GALLYHILL (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Nico de Boinville

Back from a wind op in the close season, GALLYHILL can convert on this first outing over fences. He joined Henderson with a glowing reputation and didn’t do much wiring when scoring in jumps debut at Newbury and finishing second to Midnight River at Ascot. These are relatively calm waters in which he tries to get his career back on track.

KEMPTON PARK – 10/11/2021

Race 2 No9 LOVE SOMEONE (Each Way)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Ryan Moore

Sea The Stars filly LOVE SOMEONE can make her mark on this belated first foray onto the track. She is bred to want all of this mile, but has shown ability in training.

Race 8 No13 CHESS PLAYER (Each Way)
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Callum Shepherd

Lightly raced on the Flat, CHESS PLAYER took home a minor cheque on his latest start at Leicester to suggest he’s getting closer to a first career success. He has a good draw, and gets weight from everything in the race.
