10/10/2022 – Monday’s Racing Tips

10/10/2022 - Monday's Racing Tips by Neil Morrice

Neil Morrice gives us his best bets and tips for Monday’s British meetings at Windsor, Yarmouth, Musselburgh and Wolverhampton on 10/10/2022.

WINDSOR – 10/10/2022

Race 3: DARK TROOPER
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

DARK TROOPER could hardly have experienced a better journey into the handicap sphere, having posted figures of 842 to obtain an initial mark. It shows he is progressing from race to race,m has been given the chance to win, and can now do even better from what could prove a plum draw.

Race 5: TARTAN CHIEF
Trainer: Paul Cole – Jockey: Mohammed Tabti

Although he finds it hard to win, TARTAN CHIEF is at least showing consistently good form that entitles him to again finish in the shake-up in this mile and a quarter handicap. One of his best efforts this season came here when he was beaten by Gaius since when he’s posted figures of 3223.

Race 6: FIRTH OF CLYDE (Nap)
Trainer: Paul Cole – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

In the same colours as Tartan Chief, FIRTH OF CLYDE is a pea out of the same pod in that he needs to stem a flurry of near misses, in his case second places in each of his last five outings. The Gleneagles gelding enjoys a huge edge in experience over his foes in this first division of the maiden, and unless there’s a hidden danger luring he should win.

Race 7: FOLLOW THAT STAR
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: David Probert

FOLLOW THAT STAR never flinched in the closing stages of her neck defeat by Silent Monarch at Chester. It was the second time in a row that she’d emerged as a beaten favourite, but this looks a good opportunity for the daughter of Almanzor to gain that all-important first success.

YARMOUTH – 10/10/2022

Race 4: TYPICAL WOMAN
Trainer: Ian Williams – Jockey: William Buick

Buick is an eye taking booking for TYPICAL WOMAN, who raised her game to finish second in an apprentice race at Haydock when given first time cheek pieces. Her only success happened exactly a year ago, and she can show the long wait for further success has been worth it.

Race 5: SINGLE (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: George Bass

SINGLE put in a career best when placed in a similar contest at Bath 12 months ago. She’s enjoyed mixed fortunes subsequently, but if ridden cold as she was on that occasion the Sixties Icon mare can stay on at the business end to take home another cheque.

MUSSELBURGH – 10/10/2022

Race 4: JUSTANOTHERBOTTLE (Nap)
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Oisin McSweeney

JUSTANOTHERBOTTLE isn’t used to racing in fields as small as this, but after showing that it’s a situation he’s comfortable in with a near miss at Ripon last month, he’s in a good place to boss his rivals and cash in at the main expense of Lampang.

Race 7: RORY
Trainer: Jim Goldie – Jockey: Danny Tudhope

After looking most unlucky not to score at Hamilton, RORY was all the rage for his next start at Newcastle but he conspired to again find trouble in running before finishing fourth to Ramon Di Loria. He’s run well on each occasion he’s visited this course without winning, and is in the mood to break that sequence.

WOLVERHAMPTON – 10/10/2022

Race 4: TOMAHAWK KING (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Franny Norton

TOMAHAWK KING really took the eye with the way he finished off his race on introduction at Salisbury, and from a perfect draw in this maiden looks to have all the bases covered. He works well with the best juvenile colts in the stable, and is going to be more streetwise.

Race 7: FRANCESI
Trainer: Sean Woods – Jockey: Rab Havlin

FRANCESI has paid the price for his consistency and remains high in the weights, but the grey is one of the few in this Class4 that’s shown recent form, and on just a sixth outing of the season has the wherewithal to take the spoils.
