FONTWELL PARK

Race 1 No2 ACHNAMARA (Nap)
Trainer: Harry Fry – Jockey: Jonathan Burke

As the only one in this making his debut over hurdles ACHNAMARA has more questions to answer than his foes, but regardless he’s one to take seriously for a syndicate firing in the winners. He was useful on the Flat and frequently races up with the pace, which could well be the tactics employed here.

Race 3 No2 VENGEANCE
Trainer: Harry Whittington- Jockey: Daryl Jacob

VENGEANCE shaped well on debut for this yard when chasing home the well-regarded Montgomery, here in October. He’s worked well subsequently, and as that was only his second outing over jumps there should be plenty more to come.

Race 4 No5 SIR IVAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Harry Fry – Jockey: Lorcan Murtagh

SIR IVAN might be the senior runner in this handicap chase by several years, but the 12-year-old still has a spring in his step evident when he troubled the judge on his comeback at Aintree. He’s a very accurate jumper who stays well, and on a track that will suit can mix it with the best of these.

UTTOXETER

Race 1 No5 ALKOPOP
Trainer: Toby Lawes – Jockey: Caoilin Quinn

Connections of ALKOPOP appear to have found an ideal race for the grey as he returns to hurdling. The eight-year-old has been made fitter since his seasonal return a month ago, and he has a top conditional doing the steering.

Race 2 No3 ERNEST GRAY (Nap)
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Tom Cannon

Thrown in at the deep end for his reintroduction at Warwick, ERNEST GRAY took a good blow after a wide margin defeat. He is more streetwise for the outing, and as it was his first run over jumps he should improve to strike a blow in this more straightforward contest.

Race 3 No5 EQUINUS
Trainer: Nigel Twiston- Davies – Jockey: Jordan Nailor

EQUINUS ran a cracker on his debut under Rulesin a bumper here when chasing home Bowenspark last month. In the colours of Double Ross he’s fancied to go one better, as he’s schooled well at home.

Race 7 No1 COBBLERS DREAM
Trainer: Ben Case – Jockey: Jack Quinlan

This is a cracking novices’ limited handicap chase in which COBBLERS DREAM is conceding stacks of weight to his foes. The County Hurdle runner-up was no match for Gowel Road on chase debut at Ascot but has learned and gone forward for that experience. This bold jumper can set a good target but may not be caught.

SOUTHWELL

Race 9 No1 SWEET FANTASY (Nap)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

Wootton Bassett filly SWEET FANTASY has gone 222342 in her last half dozen outings and deserves a change of luck. Her trainer adds cheek pieces for this attempt to take out the nightcap and granted the rub of the green she can achieve it.
