FFOS LAS

Race 1 No3 KNICKERBOCKERGLORY
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Skelton

KNICKERBOCKERGLORY enjoyed a bountiful beginning to the year by delivering on three of his four starts for the Skeltons. He was especially impressive when last seen at Perth in April, and has schooled well ahead of this return to the fray and first outing over fences. The only question mark is the fact that all but one of his career starts have been on right-handed courses.

Race 3 No2 POLDARK CROSS (Nap)
Trainer: Harry Whittington – Jockey: Jack Quinlan

POLDARK CROSS hit the crossbar on both occasions he completed the course last season and frequently attracted market support. He is forward for this first outing since February, and if getting the trip will be hard to beat.

SANDOWN PARK

Race 1 No10 TOP OF THE BILL (Each Way)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Jordan Nailor

TOP OF THE BILL has struggled to back up his early promise in bumpers, but having been given time to strengthen, is at the right end of the weights to make a mark on this first outing of the season.

Race 3 No2 BOLD REACTION
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: James Bowen

Former top stayer Matterhorn needs a market check on debut over jumps, but he’s been off for 564 days and a safer option is BOLD REACTION, for whom I can pass on positive vibes from Seven Barrows. The selection is unlucky not to be unbeaten for his handler, and has worked well ahead of this return to the fray.

Race 5 No7 IRISH HILL
Trainer: Paul Nicholls – Jockey: Harry Cobden

Consistent grey IRISH HILL should enjoy being pulled back on the distance ladder and looks poised to take up where he left off last season following corrective wind surgery. A former dual scorer on the Flat in France, he is in good order for this return to the fray.

Race 6 No1 LOSTINTRANSLATION (Nap)
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell

Now 5lb lower in the weights than when making a midfield finish in the Ultima Chase at Cheltenham, LOSTINTRANSLATION brings a class element to the table on his first outing for more than 200 days. Interestingly he scored on his reappearance in 2021, and first time is clearly the time to catch him.
