02/12/2021 – Thursday’s Racing Tips

02/12/2021

Neil Morrice provide his best bets for Thursday’s racing at Wincanton, Market Rasen, Leicester and Chelmsford City.

WINCANTON – 02/12/2021

Race 5 No4 ON TO VICTORY (Nap)
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Nico de Boinville

A course and distance scorer here in January, ON TO VICTORY went on to score at Warwick and picked up a cheque in a valuable novices’ handicap hurdle at Sandown at the end of the season. He didn’t look to be given a hard time on his return to jumping from the Flat when fourth to Hudson De Grugy at that track and should now be spot on, although any rain would be further to his advantage.

Race 6 No4 BOMBER’S MOON
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Mr Finn Lambert

BOMBER’S MOON rarely runs two races alike and therefore comes with a government health warning. That said, he is going to enjoy the underfoot conditions and his inexperienced jockey has finished second on him in as many rides.

MARKET RASEN – 02/12/2021

Race 3 No11 LOUNGE LIZARD (Nap)
Trainer: Henry Daly – Jockey: Adrian Heskin

LOUNGE LIZARD encountered a baptism of fire when making his debut over hurdles at Aintree, but acquitted himself well to finish fourth in a race that has thrown up winners. The Kayf Tara gelding had last season chased home Mr Glass in a bumper, form which has also been firmly endorsed. This looks a perfect opportunity for him to get off the mark.

Race 7 No2 CHIANTI CLASSICO
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: David Bass

Former point winner CHIANTO CLASSICO made a bold attempt to make all until reeled in by Estacas on his debut under Rules at Ascot. That’s strong form to bring to the table in the concluding bumper and he is very much the one to beat.

LEICESTER – 02/12/2021

Race 2 No1 ZABEEL CHAMPION
Trainer: Jonjo O’Neill – Jockey: Nick Schofield

ZABEEL CHAMPION dug deep to deliver on his debut over jumps over this course and distance for which he incurred a 6lb penalty. Importantly the form was boosted when his closest rival Lydford won easily at Southwell on Tuesday. The Poet’s Voice gelding will have gained much for that initial experience and can outpoint impressive Carlisle scorer Nurse Susan.

Race 4 No9 MISS FAIRFAX (Nap)
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Sean Bowen

MISS FAIRFAX was an eye taker on both her outings in bumpers last season. She’s done well through the summer and schooled proficiently for this first run over jumps.

Race 5 No9 LADY DE VEGA (Each Way)
Trainer: Paul Webber – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

Initially too keen for her own good over hurdles, LADY DE VEGA has improved in that respect for the fitting of a hood, a device she wore on the Flat. She put in an improved effort behind Theatre Glory at Huntingdon, and May he been let in lightly for this first handicap assignment.

CHELMSFORD CITY – 02/12/2021

Race 7 No2 EXCELLENT GEORGE (Nap)
Trainer: Stuart Williams – Jockey: Muhammad Adeel

EXCELLENT GEORGE takes the eye as the only bet on a very tricky twilight card. He normally needs a run to straighten him out, and should be all the better for his second over course and distance, which followed almost four months on the sidelines.
