CHEPSTOW

Race 2 No5 ERNEST GRAY (Nap)
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Tom Cannon

ERNEST GRAY showed by dotting up in a Warwick bumper that he is an exciting novice, and the five- year- old can be forgiven an underwhelming run in the Aintree Bumper for which he started second favourite. He’s schooled well over hurdles at home, and should find this track an ideal place to show what he can do as he switches codes.

Race 3 No12 PEMBROKE
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Skelton

This is best left to PEMBROKE, who could hardly have been more impressive in landing a Huntingdon bumper during Cheltenham week by eleven lengths and has done everything asked of him in his work and schooling ahead of his return to the fray for a yard just running into some form.

Race 8 No1 GENOVESE (Each Way)
Trainer: Martin Keighley – Jockey: Sean Bowen

Plenty take the eye on pedigree in the concluding bumper, but the value play is GENOVESE, who gamely landed the spoils on debut at Worcester and who can still be very competitive under a 7lb penalty.

NOTTINGHAM

Race 1 No5 KRYSTAL KLEAR
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: Ross Coakley

Sinus Nation filly KRYSTAL KLEAR ran into the smart Bridgestones at Yarmouth and will hopefully not clash with anything of her ilk in a race she has a favourite’s chance of winning from a favourable draw three off the fence.

Race 2 No5 HOSANNA POWER
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: David Egan

HOSANNA POWER came out of his Doncaster introduction so well that his trainer is encouraged to run him again quickly. The Frankel colt wowed in his readying gallop for this and should have little difficulty in going one better than his second on Town Moor.

Race 4 No1 MAJESTIC DAWN
Trainer: Paul Cole – Jockey: Neil Callan

Callan is an eye taking booking for the mercurial MAJESTIC DAWN. The chestnut hasn’t shone in his last two starts at Windsor and Newmarket but if getting onto an easy and controlled lead in this small field could prove hard to peg back. The jockey went too hard on the selection in the Winter Hill Stakes at Windsor, but that was the first time he’d ridden him.

Race 6 No1 CAME FROM THE DARK (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Saffie Osborne

Although yet to trouble the judge in four outings this year, CAME FROM THE DARK is of much interest in this Class2 handicap. The grey met with traffic problems when only just out of the money at Doncaster last time. He’s been given some respite by the assessor, and if enjoying racing real estate can put his nose back in front.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 1 No8 PHOENIX GLOW (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Charles Bishop

PHOENIX GLOW has a perfect draw in this nursery run round a right-handed bend. Her stats done really do her credit, as she’s had to contend with some impossible stalls positions, but after finding only one to beat her over this course and distance last time is ready to strike.

Race 4 No6 MOUSH (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: George Bass

MOUSH should not be underestimated and has also been handed a very good slot from which to obtain a handy place behind the leaders. the son of Charm Spirit kept on well to take home a cheque in a warm heat at Newbury, and if building on that effort can give Newcastle scorer Nixon plenty to think about.

Race 7 No9 DARK ISLAND (Nap)
Trainer: Heather Main – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

DARK ISLAND makes abundant appeal as he bids to follow up a narrow but cosy success here in late September. He’s a lightly-raced individual with greater scope for progression than his mainly older rivals, and most of them are out of form.
