KELSO

Race 4 No3 NERO ROCK
Trainer: Jennie Candlish – Jockey: Sean Quinlan

Having been forced to play second fiddle to a couple of useful novices in Saint Arvans and Floating Rock, NERO ROCK can deliver on a belated first visit to this venue. His record over fences reads 222U1122 which suggests he is the most likely of the four runners to run his race.

Race 7 No4 COUP DE GOLD (Each Way)
Trainer: David Thompson – Jockey: Joshua Thompson

COUP DE GOLD can better his near miss in this race last year, when chasing home Red Ochre. The ultra-consistent performer made a pleasing return to action when third at Cartmel, and that run should have fine-tuned him for an even more prominent showing at a course he likes.

UTTOXETER

Race 2 No1 COLONEL HARRY
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

With his yard in excellent form, COLONEL HARRY can carry the ability he showed in points to a win on his first run under Rules in this maiden hurdle. The well-related son of Shirocco has impressed in his work and schooling and can have the edge on more experienced Knockanore

Race 3 No1 AUCUNRISQUE (Nap)
Trainer: Chris Gordon – Jockey: Tom Cannon

AUCUNRISQUE is a horse that can go a long way in the novice chase division this season. His four successes over hurdles included the Dovecote at Kempton and he’s hinted he can transfer his slick jumping of hurdles to fences with some pleasing schooling at home.

Race 5 No4 HENRI LE BON
Trainer: Kerry Lee – Jockey: Angus Cheleda

HENRI LE BON deserves to get his head in front, and has a fine opportunity to do so following an earning summer campaign. The gelding just needs to get the monkey off his back that makes him a 19-race maiden, but can better his recent near misses in consecutive visits to Uttoxeter.
