02/02/2022 – Wednesday’s Racing Tips

Neil Morrice provides tips for Wednesday’s British race meetings at  Leicester, Exeter and Kempton Park on 02/02/2022.

LEICESTER – 02/02/2022

Race 3 No2 SAM BARTON (Nap)
Trainer: Emma Lavelle – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

Small fields make for tactical racing and in this novices’ handicap chase SAM BARTON can be the one to cash in. Although beaten a long way on a first outing since wind surgery at Doncaster, he caught the eye staying on at the end in what was a far more competitive heat than this.

Race 5 No7 FAMILY BUSINESS
Trainer: Richard Hobson – Jockey: Lilly Pinchin

Competing from the foot of the weights, FAMILY BUSINESS can confirm his superiority over Crealion and remain unbeaten for his trainer. The selection stepped up on the form he displayed in two chase outings in France to score over course and distance last month, and should have more to offer.

Race 6 No2 IRON HORSE

Trainer: Richard Phillips – Jockey: William Kennedy

IRON HORSE showed his liking for this course when second over hurdles after more than a year off the course. His racecourse visits are sporadic, but if making normal progression from that eye taking run he can go one better.

EXETER – 02/02/2022

Race 3 No3 FLYING SARA
Trainer: Jack Barber – Jockey: Nick Schofield

The form of FLYING SARA makes her an automatic favourite for this maiden hurdle. A dual bumper winner, she’s troubled the judge in a couple of Listed races in that division. She is sure to have been well tutored ahead of this switch to hurdling.

Race 4 No4 FINEST VIEW
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Tom Cannon

Passing Glance mare FINEST VIEW shaped encouragingly when second on her hurdling bow at Wincanton. There was plenty of money for her, and connections can feel confident she will build on the effort against regular earner Credo and the improving Sweet Nightingale.

Race 6 No11 THELASTHIGHKING (Nap)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Jordan Nailor

In an open race, THELASTHIGHKING has strong credentials for an earning run for a stable that has its horses in good order. The Nap’s Boxing Day defeat by Hecouldbetheone was boosted when that horse delivered at Plumpton on Monday.

KEMPTON PARK – 02/02/2022

Race 4 No8 TYPEWRITTEN (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Hayley Turner

Prolific scorer Numble sets a high standard but has taken a hike in the weights, leaving TYPEWRITTEN as a value alternative off a tempting mark. The grey steps into handicap company for the first time, having earned in back-to-back visits to Chelmsford. She acts on Polytrack, and can open her account.

Race 5 No9 ALMUFEED
Trainer: Sean Curran – Jockey: Grace McEntee

ALMUFEED can handle this step up the class ladder to complete a fine hat-trick. Under this evening’s pilot he’s delivered with the minimum of fuss on back-to-back visits to Wolverhampton. Now getting weight from most of his opponents but in a Class4, he is worth supporting to continue his sequence.

Race 6 No2 GEORGE MORLAND (Each Way)
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: David Probert

GEORGE MORLAND can take his revenge on Mount Mogan for a three quarters of a length defeat by that rival at Lingfield. The Camacho colt enjoys a swing in the weights, and should also improve from that first outing in three months.
