REDCAR

Race 1 No7 THE KING’S MEN (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Connor Beasley

THE KING’S MEN was easy to back on his Newcastle introduction but stayed on well for a minor cheque. The son of Unfortunately has worked well on grass and should be right at home switched to that surface as a much more streetwise individual.

Race 5 No12 GIVE IT SOME TEDDY (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Ben Robinson

GIVE IT SOME TEDDY ran a cracker in a similar ultra-competitive heat at Newmarket on Saturday to indicate he can belatedly open his account for 2022. He’s been round the block a few times, but is in good order for this task with a new jockey on his back.

Race 8 No2 DOUGIES DREAM (Each Way)
Trainer: Nigel Tinkler – Jockey: Faye McManoman

Lots of low-grade handicappers are tilting at windmills trying to cash in on the remnants of a long season, and DOUGIES DREAM is a case in point. He wasn’t beaten far in a better race at Newcastle and can repeat his win here from back in the spring.

SOUTHWELL

Race 2 No6 IFTIKHAAR
Trainer: David Simcock – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

IFTIKHAAR stepped up for a frame finish on his second start at Wolverhampton and the stoutly-bred individual is going to enjoy doing almost two laps of the track in this stamina test, for a trainer that does well with his runners here.

Race 5 No2 INFINITIVE (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

INFINITIVE goes down as one of the best-bred distaffers in training, being by Juddmonte International winner and top sire Ulysses out of Group1 winning mare Integral. Up to now that’s where the plaudits end, as she’s experienced a topsy-turvy time of things in her three outings to date. That said, her trainer seems to have found a very soft option for that vitally important first success, which she can achieve.

WARWICK

Race 2 No4 EVERYONESGAME
Trainer: Charlie Longsdon – Jockey: Brian Hughes

EVERYONESGAME has posted three seconds and a win in his four starts under Rules and in an Irish point. He ran into one when chasing home Spanish Present at Worcester, and even though that one let the form down at Cheltenham it makes sense to back the selection to improve on the run, and open his account under the champion jockey.

Race 3 No1 SKYTASTIC
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

SKYTASTIC hails from a stable that has hit the ground running and is of serious interest on this debut over fences. The six-year-old faces stern opposition from Stage Star and West Cork, but if a line is drawn through his poor run at Aintree he’s an unbeaten horse with the potential to reach for the stars.

Race 6 No2 THELASTHIGHKING (Nap)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Jordan Nailor

THELASTHIGHKING opened his account over hurdles when last seen on handicap debut at Doncaster, but chasing has always promised to be his game. The six-year-old has put in some useful schooling at home, and can bolster his trainer’s good record with novices going straight for a handicap when switched to fences.

NEWCASTLE

Race 5 No2 PRINTEMPS (Nap)
Trainer: Karl Burke – Jockey: Clifford Lee

PRINTEMPS left a good impression when opening her account on a second start after joining the Burke battalion. The daughter of Shamardal is in a good place to consolidate in this tougher race off only a 2lb higher mark.

Race 6 No3 THAAYER (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Tom Eaves

THAAYER has a good midfield draw in this big field and can be competitive by tracking the pace. This regular earner doesn’t always enjoy the rub of the green, but can again take home a cheque of some kind.
