Tipping Point 24-28 August 2022: 5 to watch this week

Tipping Point 24-28 August 2022 - 5 to watch this week

Tipping Point 24-28 August 2022 – our writer MC picks out 5 to watch this week including a heavyweight clash in Serie A between Lazio and Inter.

We are back with another round of weekly fixtures to look forward to this week in Europe with UEFA Champions League qualification reaching boiling point, EFL Cup and an interesting fixture to look forward to in Serie A.

Leeds United 1/4 | Draw 5/1 | Barnsley 10/1 (19:45) – Tipping Point 24-28 August 2022

Leeds and Barnsley clash in this EFL cup tie looking to progress through to the third round.

The Whites have hit the ground running in the Premier League under Jesse Marsch, who has improved the team’s performance with great recruits and a tighter defense.

For Marsch, this game will present an opportunity to test his squad depth by giving a few players who haven’t played much so far a run-out.

Barnsley, on the other hand, has had fluctuating form in Ligue One, winning just twice in their last five games and losing the rest. The defense will worry Michael Duff, which conceded three goals at home against Wycombe Wanderers over the weekend.

They did well to overcome Middlesbrough in the previous round, but this will be a much sterner test.

Conclusion: I’m expecting a Leeds win with Over 2.5 total goals @ 8/11.

PSV Eindhoven 3/4 | Draw 3/1 | Glasgow Rangers 16/5 (20:00) – Tipping Point 24-28 August 2022

PSV kept this tie alive by ensuring a draw away to Rangers last time out, and they head into this game better positioned as the home side.

They are now favorites to progress to the Champions League Group Stge, with this return leg being played in front of their fans. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s team has looked good this season, scoring nine goals in their first two games in the Eredivisie and making it past AS Monaco to get to this stage.

Rangers only have themselves to blame for not killing off the game in the first leg, having created a lot of chances.

Over the weekend, Rangers drew away to 8th positioned Hibernian, dropping their first points this season.

Conclusion: It will be a tightly contested game, but I’m backing a win for PSV @ 3/4.

Lazio 14/5 | Draw 14/5 | Inter 87/100 (19:45) – Tipping Point 24-28 August 2022

One of the games of the week in Europe!

Lazio hosts a reborn Inter side who have gotten off to a good start in the Serie A, winning the first two games. Those games were against last season’s strugglers Spezia and newcomers Lecce.

This will be the real test for Simone Inzaghi’s team against a team that doesn’t often lose at home.

Last season Lazio won 3-1 at home against Inter, and they will be looking to repeat that performance.

Conclusion: I’m expecting goals in this game. I will go with a goal total of Over 3 @ 21/20.

Manchester City 2/13 | Draw 7/1 | Crystal Palace 16/1 (15:00) – Tipping Point 24-28 August 2022

Manchester City’s perfect start was slightly disrupted by a buoyant Newcastle side last time and was lucky to earn a point against the Magpies, who were brilliant at St. James’ Park.

That said, however, it was clear for everyone that Man City are still favorites to win the Premier League this season because of how they play and their ‘never give up’ attitude. They remind you of their bitter neighbour’s old days.

They come up against an excellent Crystal Palace, who recently frustrated Liverpool at Anfield and thrashed Aston Villa at home.

To get anything from this game, Palace will likely use the same tactics they employed against Liverpool, playing a low block and launching counterattacks with the on-form Wilfred Zaha and Eberechi Eze proving to be a menace so far this season.

Conclusion: Manchester City win @ 2/13.

Nottingham Forest 11/2 | Draw 7/2 | Tottenham Hotspur 4/9 (16:30) – Tipping Point 24-28 August 2022

Nottingham Forest have been off to a decent start after their long-awaited return to the Premier League.

They have collected four points, losing to an in-form Newcastle side on an opening day.

Despite drawing against Everton in their last game, they created many chances and controlled possession and could have gotten more than a point.

They face a Tottenham side that hasn’t lost this season, collecting seven points that have placed them in the fourth position.

Antonio Conte’s men are developing a mentality of muscling their way through games when things don’t seem to be going their way, and it’s been refreshing to watch.

Forest will be a much more open game for them compared to their last match against Wolves, who operate with a more combative style.

Conclusion: Tough one to call, so I would back Both Teams To Score @ 10/11 – both sides have looked good in front of the goal.
