Tipping Point 22 May 2022 - 5 to watch this weekend

Tipping Point 22 May 2022 covers five exciting fixtures taking place this weekend, including the Serie A title race between AC Milan and Inter Milan and the fight for the Premier League title between Man City and Liverpool.

The final weekend of football in most top football leagues we’ve been dreading is upon us. Fortunately, unlike most campaigns where the final day is full of dead rubber games, there are plenty of games to look forward to this weekend in the Premier League, Serie A, and LaLiga.

Here’s a preview of selected games across Europe with Tipping Point 22 May 2022.

Sunday – Tipping  Point 22 May 2022

Liverpool 2/13 | Draw 13/2 | Wolves 20/1 (16:00) – Premier League

Most football fans will be keeping a close eye on this fixture and Manchester City’s game.

Liverpool have a slight chance of winning the Premier League if they win this game, but it all depends on Man City dropping points in their game against Aston Villa. There are small margins for error in the Premier League with things so tight.

Liverpool will rightfully celebrate this season with a parade regardless of not winning the title, it’s been a good season for the Reds who still have a Champions League final to look forward to.

While winless in their last five games, Wolves aren’t an easy team to come up against. They’ve proven to be tough opponents this season and look like they will only get better next season. By now Liverpool players are suffering a bit of fatigue, so if Wolves come into this game energized, playing at a high-tempo, it could cause problems for Liverpool.

Conclusion: I’m backing a Liverpool win, with a goals totals of less than 3.5.

Manchester City 2/13 | Draw 15/2 | Aston Villa 18/1 (16:00) – Premier League

Manchester City host an Aston Villa side that are winless in four games.

Since exiting the Champions League, Man City has smashed everything in front of them in a fight to ensure they defend their title.

Kevin De Bruyne will be the man to watch having reached fifteen goals this season in what’s been one of his best campaigns for City. A lot of football fans will keep an eye on this one especially because Villa is coached by a Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard, who’s in a special position to help his boyhood club achieve only their second league title in 30 years.

Aston Villa will look to Philippe Coutinho to inspire their performance, something he has done often since joining on loan from Barcelona, but will it be enough? I’m not sure.

Conclusion: I can’t see Man City losing this game or even drawing. I’m backing a City win.

Inter Milan 2/17 | Draw 7/1 | Sampdoria 18/1 (17:00) – Serie A

Defending champions, Inter, take on Sampdoria in what should be a nail-biting conclusion to the Serie A season with AC Milan playing at the same time.

Like Napoli, honestly, Inter has only themselves to blame for falling behind AC in the title race with losses against teams like Sassuolo and Bologna in this campaign.

Having won four out of their last five games they’ll go into this one with good momentum against a team that managed to score four goals in its last game. Sampdoria has been a lot calmer since securing another season in the Serie A, collecting two wins and a draw in their last five games.

Conclusion: I’m backing an Inter Win and goals total of over 3.5.

Sassuolo 11/2 | Draw 7/2 | AC Milan 12/25 (17:00) – Serie A

The worst thing for both Milan sides would have been to face relegation-threatened teams in their last games. That would have made their fixtures much trickier.

AC Milan visits a Sassuolo side that is sitting comfortably on position 11, with not much to play for. Milan needs maximum points to secure their first league title in 11 years, a draw won’t do here with Inter having a better goal difference.

Sassuolo have proven they are no pushovers this season and can certainly pull one over Milan. AC will approach this game with a hint of caution.

Conclusion: I’m not 100% certain Milan will win this one, I’m backing both teams to score @ 4/7.

Barcelona 21/20 | Draw 29/10 | Villarreal 2/1 (21:00) – La Liga

While this is very close to being a dead rubber game, Barcelona has had a type of season that requires them to finish with a convincing win against a team that has done relatively better than them despite occupying 7th position in La Liga.

The Champions League run to the semi-finals hasn’t come without a sacrifice for the Yellow Submarine. That semi-final finish was achieved via qualification for the Champions League through winning the Europa League, a cup Barcelona was aiming for this season but failed to win.

Villareal will be disappointed with their position this season, which only secures them Conference League entry.

They still need to win against Barcelona to keep this position, with Athletic Club only a point behind them and they face a relatively easier final game.

Conclusion: I don’t think Villarreal will have enough firepower to beat Barcelona at home, I do however think they can nick a point.
