Tipping Point 16-18 April 2022 covers five exciting fixtures taking place this weekend, including the FA Cup semi-final clash between Liverpool and Manchester City.

After the exciting final round of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, our focus turns back to the domestic leagues in Europe with the EPL, LaLiga and Serie A all in action this weekend. Liverpool and Manchester City clash once again (we aren’t complaining), this time for a spot in the final of the FA Cup.

Saturday – Tipping Point 16-18 April 2022

Tottenham Hotspur 8/15 | Draw 10/3 | Brighton and Hove Albion 11/2 (12:30)

We kick things off with the early Saturday clash between Tottenham and The Seagulls.

Tottenham players seem to be finally on board with Conte-ball and they look ready to fight on until the very end to keep their place in the top four. A win won’t only strengthen their position against the chasing pack but will also see them move just two points behind third-positioned Chelsea, who host Arsenal on Wednesday. Tottenham are on a four-game winning streak and have scored 14 goals in that run.

Having gone through a six-game winless run, Brighton seems to have turned their form around in their recent fixtures where they managed to pick up four points. Three of those came from Arsenal, so Tottenham should caution against overconfidence on this one.

Conclusion: At home, Tottenham are turning into a beast. I’m backing a home win with both teams to score @ 19/10.

Manchester City 29/20 | Draw 23/10 | Liverpool 9/5 (15:30)

The two heavyweights meet again, just six days after their gripping 2-2 draw in the league. This time they meet under different circumstances, to fight for a place in the FA Cup final.

While the Citizens are favorites for this one, the game might suit Liverpool more since this is a knockout competition. Man City will be missing key players in Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker due to injuries picked up at the Wanda Metropolitano earlier in the week.

When these two met in the league, City had the better chances to kill off the game in the second half and can look to that performance to inspire them against the Reds again.

Conclusion: I think we’ll witness another draw in 90 mins, with Liverpool winning it in extra time. Play it a bit safe and back Liverpool to qualify at 20/21.

Sunday – Tipping Point 16-18 April 2022

Sevilla 19/10 | Draw 12/5 | Real Madrid 29/20 (19:00)

In recent weeks the home side have given up a decent lead over Barcelona due to a run of four consecutive games without a victory, culminating in a 1-0 loss to the Catalan side.

Sevilla then registered four goals against Granada in their most recent league game to get back to winning ways. They now meet Real Madrid, who needed Karim Benzema to save them again in midweek when Chelsea threatened a dramatic comeback in the Champions League.

With 24 goals to his name in La Liga, Madrid will look to their captain again to lead them against the best defensive outfit in La Liga. Sevilla have only let in 22 goals all season, while Madrid has shipped in four more.

Conclusion: While Real are favorites here, I see value in backing a Sevilla win or draw in the Double Chance market at 52/100.

Monday – Tipping Point 16-18 April 2022

Napoli 10/11 | Draw 13/5 | Roma 3/1 (18:00)

Napoli suffered a setback last Sunday, losing 3-2 to Fiorentina at home.

The loss left the hosts third on the log, two points behind log leaders AC Milan. A win would’ve taken them to the summit.

Before last Sunday’s defeat, Napoli was on a great run with three successive wins, each of which saw them bag at least two goals. They are out of all cup competitions and will now focus on the title race in the remaining six rounds.

Next up for Spalletti and his men are AS Roma, who will travel to Naples with an impressive record of four wins in the last five. That run includes three consecutive victories.

Conclusion: Tough game to call here between two teams that know how to find the back of the net, so I suggest backing Both Teams to Score (Yes) on this one at around 7/10.

Atalanta 4/7 | Draw 3/1 | Verona 4/1 (20:00)

We conclude the weekend fixture with a match-up between mid-table rivals Atalanta and Hellas Verona. Only six points separate these sides between eighth and tenth, with Atalanta on 51 points and their opponents on 45 points.

The hosts come into this match fresh from a disappointing 2-1 loss against Sassuolo, while Verona suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Inter Milan.

These sides have won once in their last five games and can’t be trusted on current form.

Conclusion: I won’t be backing either side, so I suggest getting on the Under 2.5 Goals market at a valuable 20/21.
