A near 10-minute spell in the second half sparked an attritional affair to life as Brentford and Nottingham Forest had to settle for a share of the spoils at the City Ground.

The Bees have endured something of a rough patch of late and they looked nervous in the opening exchanges, with City dominating proceedings. For all of their dominance, City struggled to carve out any clear opportunities.

The Londoners turned up the pressure in the second half, with their forwards causing all sorts of problems for Forest. Then came moment that sparked the encounter to life as Moussa Niakhaté was given his marching orders for a second yellow card after raking Yoane Wissa’s calf.

Christiaan Nørgaard would grab the opening goal of the game from the resulting free-kick as he headed home Mathias Jensen’s ball. Forest would strike back seven minutes later as Nicolas Dominguez grabbed a headed goal of his own.

The Bees almost grabbed all three points as Michael Olakigbe’s shot was cleared off the line by Murillo.
