PREVIEW: 2023/24 German Bundesliga – Week 4

After 3 great weeks of Bundesliga predictions, last matchday was rather disappointing. Dortmund continue to struggle while Bayern found victory, but Harry Kane lacked his cutting-edge finishing, and Union’s undefeated home streak comes crashing down.

Bayern 63/100 | Draw 18/5 | Leverkusen 7/2

Bayern and Leverkusen clash at the Allianz Arena as the only two Bundesliga teams with a 100% record heading into gameweek 4. While Leverkusen have been extremely impressive, passing up on Bayern would be foolish.

Saturday, 9 September

Cologne 59/50 | Draw 69/25 | Hoffenheim 203/100

Cologne’s performances have been lacklustre, and Hoffenheim’s pleasurable viewing – six goals in their last two, bit a clean sheet is highly needed. The head-to-head while Hoffenheim are away suggests they take all three, so back it.

Freiburg 54/25 | Draw 277/100 | Dortmund 111/100

Dortmund seemed a sure bet last time out and started like a house on fire scoring two goals in 20 minutes, but again, let the game slowly slip by inviting pressure. Away from home this game flow may be more prominent for Dortmund and betting both teams to score is the play.

Leipzig 11/50 | Draw 28/5 | Augsburg 9/1

Leipzig were uber impressive against Union away from home, destroying them 3-0. Its obvious goals are on the forefront of the Red Bull side and backing the home team to win plus over 2.5 is value.

Mainz 38/25 | Draw 257/100 | Stuttgart 41/25

Stuttgart have been prolific in front of goal, scoring 15 goals across all competitions, while Mainz sit 17th after collecting 4-0 goals in their last matchup. Stuttgart is the value bet of the gameweek.

Wolfsburg 61/50 | Draw 49/20 | Union Berlin 109/50

Both Wolfsburg and Union Berlin suffered their first defeats of the season, and getting a win before the international break is of the utmost importance to regain momentum. But a draw seems the more likely outcome.

Bochum 197/100 | Draw 5/2 | Eintracht Frankfurt 131/100

Both Bochum and Eintracht have made life difficult for their recent opponents picking up two draws a piece over their last three. Unfortunately for Bochum, they ran into Stuttgart who are in fine form with an opening day loss. I can’t separate the two here, and a draw is probable.

Sunday, 10 September

Heidenheime 32/25 | Draw 27/10 | Werder Bremen 44/25

While the joy of two underdogs making the Bundesliga was tangible, they are way out of their league. Heidenheimer valiantly fought against Dortmund to muster a 2-2 draw, but a late penalty earned a point, not much to go on. Back the away team who handed Mainz their first defeat of the season by four goals to nil.

Darmstadt 47/25 | Draw 51/20 | Monchengladbach 63/50

Darmstadt are not cut for the Bundesliga and quickly becoming the whipping boys. Meanwhile, M’Gladbach have faced tough opposition to start their campaign and are due a win with the performances they have put forward. The away win is on.
