The Barcelona sports department, led by Deco, maintains daily communication with the coaching staff, ensuring a constant exchange of information.

Since Deco’s arrival, analysts have united their efforts, working in unison to share and scrutinize player reports more collaboratively. Barcelona find themself in a challenging financial situation, and the days of splurging on star signings are over. The club are now scouting for opportunities to bolster the team while preventing the exodus of talent.

The available funds are limited, and Barcelona’s strategy revolve around maintaining the core team while making three strategic signings. The primary focus is on acquiring two full-backs, one for each flank, irrespective of whether Joao Cancelo remains with the club. Additionally, they are exploring the possibility of signing a young, promising defensive midfielder who can evolve into a first-team mainstay.

The objective is to address a long-term gap created by the departure of Sergi Busquets this summer, which was eventually filled by Oriol Romeu due to the unavailability of a top-tier European midfielder.

Xavi Hernández made a wise move by opting for a home-grown talent who had demonstrated exceptional skills at Girona and was affordable. However, Deco aspires to take the next step.

According to SPORT, in the case of full-backs, except for Cancelo, the investment will be minimal, if not negligible. Barcelona is seeking experienced players who can play secondary roles and potentially develop within the club. The idea is to minimize expenses.

Furthermore, they haven’t ruled out the possibility of promoting talent from the club’s youth academy, depending on the available budget. As for the defensive midfielder position, they are exploring options that involve minimal costs and young talents. The plan is taking shape, although it remains contingent on resource availability and Barcelona’s ability to execute the operation.

To top it off, Barcelona aim to secure a winger, considering the expected changes in the attacking department at the end of the season. Ansu Fati’s future at the club appears uncertain, and Xavi has consistently emphasized the need for a player who can make a significant impact on the left flank.

However, the desired options are financially demanding and can only be pursued if there are substantial player sales. There’s still time, but plans are gradually taking shape with cautious optimism, knowing they are on the right track to improve the project.
