BRIGHTON

Race 1 – UNCLE DICK 33/20

UNCLE DICK opened his turf account over course and distance with a narrow victory last month. Failed to justify favouritism when third of seven at Salisbury four days ago and looks set to bounce back with a big run.

Buy the Dip (5) placed twice from four outings since scoring tackling AW at Lingfield in June. Fairly treated on figures and can make his presence felt.

Coloane (3) appears vulnerable for win purposes but could secure a placing along with Yarmouth winner Free Step (2) who might be worth a look for any moves in the market.

Race 2 – MIGUEL 56/100

MIGUEL (3) was second debuting at Chepstow while the winner has subsequently scored again. Third of thirteen tackling this trip at the same venue fourteen days ago and looks set for a bold bid third-up.

Gregorina (5) is a daughter of dual G3 and G2 winner Gregorian. Warrants respect making her racecourse debut. Fellow newcomer Medican Star (1) is a son of dual G1 winner Galileo Gold and an interesting contender first-up.

Compton Bay (2) will need to show drastic improvement to feature here on third outing.

Race 4 – CONTROL 9/4

CONTROL (1) kept on nicely when just denied here seven days ago. A bold bid is anticipated turning out again quickly attempting this longer journey.

Storm Valley (2) has not made the frame in seven runs to date however was popular last time when a disappointing fifth of six at Windsor. Interesting if the money comes for her again.

No Diggity (3) was a penultimate start course and distance winner though only managed third behind the main selection here tackling latest. Thereabouts back up in trip. Seraphina (9) may place off bottom weight.

Race 7 – MOONDIAL 2/1

MOONDIAL (5) returned from a short break at Epsom to make it two wins from four starts on turf. Intriguing dropping back to the minimum trip and a bold bid is anticipated.

Turquoise Diamond (2) was fifth behind the main selection in latest. Attempts a shorter journey for the first time and could have a big run in her.

Major Gatsby (3) is one from two over course and distance. Enters calculations along with Hobson Point (1) who might place.

PERTH

Race 1 – DOCTOR NIGHTINGALE 56/100

The Gordon Elliot-trained DOCTOR NIGHTINGALE (4) has made the frame attempting three early season juvenile contests in Ireland.

Major player receiving a 8lbs mares allowance from all but one of her rivals. Talented flat performer Lord Sam’s Castle (3) shaped nicely when third on hurdling debut at Aintree. Can improve.

Ironopolis (1) won a 1 ½m Southwell flat handicap in April. Could have the stamina for this discipline and looks a newcomer to note.

Kyogo (2) is a stablemate to the main selection and was third tackling 2 ⅛m on hurdling debut at Killarney. Disappointed since but could rebound wearing first-time cheekpieces.

Race 3 – SOLWAY MOLLY 10/1

SOLWAY MOLLY (6) was runner-up over 2m here in July to a horse that has won again since. Posted another second at Cartmel subsequently and is considered.

Prince Nino (3) won over course and distance two outings back and makes the shortlist. Held excuses when below-par two weeks ago.

Beauty to Behold (1) has placed at this venue the past four starts. Latest effort was on debut for his current yard and unlikely to be far away.

Morandi Second (2) hinted at potential after arriving from France last season. Warrants respect from this rating.

Race – THEMANINTHEBOOTS

THEMANINTHEBOOTS (3) recorded back-to-back hurdle wins here in recent months and though yet to fire in three fences outings receives a 4lbs higher mark. Could be worth siding with representing a powerful trainer and jockey combination.

Saint Arvans (1) won by 5L over course and distance in June. Little wrong with three subsequent runs and warrants respect wearing first-time cheekpieces.

Petrastar (4) was left alone in front at the last when winning here attempting the journey two starts ago. Too keen hurdling subsequently but better expected revisiting fences.

Wasdell Dundalk (5) won narrowly tackling track and trip and is respected despite a 6lbs higher mark.

Race 6 – HEADSCARF LIL 5/2

Six-time course winner Pammi (2) has endured mixed fortunes this term but is now 4lbs below his most recent winning mark. Did enough when fourth here last month to suggest his winning turn could be near.

HEADSCARF LIL (1) won from this mark tackling 2 ⁹⁄₁₆m at Market Rasen in May. Warrants a second look. Stable companion Millie of Mayo (3) has not stood much racing in recent years but looks well treated on best form. Now wearing first-time cheekpieces.

Miss Wachit (4) is on the same mark as when winning at Southwell last June. Could go well delivering second outing after wind surgery.
