Daniel Bell-Drummond – UWC Cricket Club

Kent batsman Daniel Bell-Drummond joined the University of the Western Cape Cricket Club for the second half of the 2022-23 Western Province Cricket Association premier league. Bell-Drummond is playing alongside Proteas batsman Zubayr Hamza at UWC Cricket Club – and recently struck a 119 not out off 110 deliveries against title contenders Rondebosch Cricket Club.

Gareth Roderick – Green Point Cricket Club

Worcestershire wicketkeeper-batsman Gareth Roderick enjoyed a prolific 2022 County Championship campaign. He has been with Green Point Cricket Club since the start of this season’s WPCA premier league. Roderick’s absence was felt in late January, when Green Point Cricket Club slumped to defeat to Ottoman Cricket Club, who were at the bottom of the standings at the time. Roderick missed the match due to illness.

Harry Finch – Claremont Cricket Club

Kent batsman Harry Finch will replace fellow overseas professional Harry Came at Claremont Cricket Club in the WPCA premier league in late January. Came will depart Claremont Cricket Club on the back of a match-winning century against Kraaifontein Cricket Club. Finch will join a club that has also hosted county cricket veteran Darren Stevens in the recent past.

Fletcha Middleton – Cape Town Cricket Club

Hampshire batsman Fletcha Middleton joined Cape Town Cricket Club in the WPCA premier league via former Proteas batsman Neil McKenzie, who placed several England cricketers at South African clubs. Middleton is the latest in a long line of first-class cricketers from the United Kingdom to play at Cape Town Cricket Club, including Billy Mead, Adam Rouse and Ben Curran.

Aneurin Donald – Rondebosch Cricket Club

Hampshire wicketkeeper-batsman Aneurin Donald was a belated signing for Rondebosch Cricket Club. He has been key to the second half of their WPCA premier league campaign, which will largely be without the experienced Brad Barnes. Donald is a solid wicketkeeper-batsman replacement in the absence of Barnes.

Josh Tongue – Kraaifontein Cricket Club

Worcestershire fast bowler Josh Tongue was due to join Kraaifontein Cricket Club in the WPCA premier league. However, he was later included in the England Lions squad and had to withdraw from the stint in South Africa. Kraaifontein Cricket Club are struggling to avoid relegation. Tongue’s participation would have been a big boost.

Chris Dent – Brackenfell Cricket Club

Gloucestershire batsman Chris Dent joined Brackenfell Cricket Club for a second stint through the first half of the 2022-23 WPCA premier league. He has since returned to England and been replaced at Brackenfell Cricket Club by Namibian international Jan Frylinck.
