The weekend’s double header comes quickly on the back of India’s impressive display last night at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. India won the toss and elected to bat on what seemed an excellent surface.
They were off to a fast start but it was Hardik Pandya’s 51 off 33 and 4 wickets that sealed the deal for the visitors, being named man of the match.
England’s response was poor, the power play got away from them as several wickets fell with few runs contributed and whilst Ali and Brooks attempted a fightback , they were quickly back in the hut off the bowling of Chahal.
Birmingham is the venue on Saturday and Nottingham on Sunday, both starting at 230pm.
The three ODI’s start on Tuesday with The Oval hosting the first match.
Betting Angle: England vs India T20 Saturday and Sunday
Being a best of three England will need to win on Saturday to stay in the series and need to put this last performance, where they were completely outplayed by India in all facets of the game behind them. Chris Jordan was the standout player for England with bat and ball and his teammates need to pick up the tempo. Jason Roy looked inept and is in poor form still and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few changes in the top order .
I’m going to suggest a half unit on Liam Livingston to England’s top batsmen on Saturday at 5/1 and a half unit on Deepak Hooda as India’s top batsmen at 9/2 in the same match.
