HEREFORD – 24/11/2021
Race 2 No2 MERRY MISTRESS (Nap)
Trainer: David Dennis – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy
Getaway mare MERRY MISTRESS has earned on both starts since joining her trainer. A bumper winner here on debut under Rules a year ago, she doesn’t have many miles on her racing clock, leaving her with scope for development that can carry her to a first triumph over jumps.
Race 3 No8 LOUP DE MAULDE
Trainer: Christian Williams – Jockey: Jack Tudor
There’s plenty to like about LOUP DE MAULDE, who nestles dangerously at the base of the handicap, getting plenty of weight from his foes. Ridden by Tudor throughout his career, he showed a liking for this course when third to Obey The Rules on debut over fences at the start of the month, and will be more streetwise now.
WETHERBY – 24/11/2021
Race 1 No1 AWAY AT DAWN (Nap)
Trainer: Donald McCain Jnr – Jockey: Brian Hughes
AWAY AT DAWN appeals as the most likely of the quartet to reproduce his form, and can confirm his superiority over Burrows Diamond from Hexham at the beginning of the month. The top weights hails from a stable that is seriously amongst the winners, and can make it a win on his first visit to this course.
Race 2 No3 LINDWALL
Trainer: Donald McCain Jnr – Jockey: Brian Hughes
LINDWALL rattled-off a fine hat-trick for his previous trainer through the early autumn before having his sequence halted on latest start at Newcastle. His freewheeling tactics on the Flat lend themselves to the way McCain likes his horses to perform, and the chestnut can show he has a bright future in the juvenile hurdle division.
KEMPTON PARK – 24/11/2021
Race 4 No3 TROPICAL TALENT (Each Way)
Trainer: David Elsworth – Jockey: Sean Levey
TROPICAL TALENT upped his game to trouble the judge over this trip here in an exercise that gained him a handicap mark. He didn’t go unbacked on that occasion, and from a favourable draw can take home another cheque.
Race 6 No1 STORMY ANTARCTIC (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Tom Marquand
STORMY ANTARCTIC has the wherewithal to take out the Listed feature after indicating on his last start behind Zakouski at Newmarket that he’s in his comfort zone at this level. Aside from flopping in a Group 2 at Goodwood in August, the chestnut hasn’t done anything wrong, and greatly deserves the fine opportunity presenting him here.
Race 8 No6 KOEMAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Hollie Doyle
KOEMAN has become hard to predict, and when scoring at Hamilton in September was not doing so out of turn. He hacked up that day, but has not managed to back it up, though he wasn’t disgraced when in the money on his latest outing at Newmarket. This is a tricky race in which to try to jump out of jail, but at likely high odds he’s worth a small interest.
