CARLISLE – 08/11/2021
Race 1 No6 HIDOR DE BERSY
Trainer: Tom Symonds – Jockey: Aidan Coleman
HIDOR DE BERSY impressively took out a Huntingdon bumper on debut under Rules back in March and has trained enthusiastically for this switch to hurdling. He has the same jockey in the irons, and is one of the main hopes from his stable this winter.
Race 4 No2 ELVIS MAIL (Nap)
Trainer: Nick Alexander – Jockey: Conor O’Farrell
Key to ELVIS MAIL’s chances lies with his proven record at delivering after a break. He’s landed a handicap hurdle and a novices’ handicap chase first time back in 2019 and 2020, and returns in equally good shape for this graduation chase. The seven-year-old rubbed hooves with some smart foes including Shishkin, and now is the time to catch him.
Race 5 No1 CAPTAIN BIGGLES
Trainer: Olly Murphy – Aidan Coleman
CAPTAIN BIGGLES hit the woodwork on all three starts before forced onto the sidelines last December. He attracted plenty of support when last seen, chasing home Game Socks at Plumpton as an odds-on favourite. He is completely fit for this first outing in eleven months and can make a successful graduation into handicaps.
KEMPTON PARK – 08/11/2021
Race 1 No1 MIDNIGHT’S LEGACY (Nap)
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Tom Cannon
For an entire, MIDNIGHT’S LEGACY is taking well to his new discipline, something mirrored by his convincing success in a similar race at Plumpton last month. The Midnight Legend colt should have little difficulty in following-up under a penalty.
Race 3 No3 DODDIETHEGREAT
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Nico de Boinville
It’s hard to get away from DODDIETHEGREAT in this novices’ hurdle, in which the unbeaten winner of two bumpers is carded to start a warm favourite. He took out those contests at Ludlow and Huntingdon as a well-supported favourite, and has worked and schooled well in preparation for his return to the fray.
WOLVERHAMPTON – 08/11/2021
Race 3 No6 PASTEL POWER
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa
This stable sent out an impressive first time out winner last week and have chances of another with PASTEL POWER, a son of Shalaa. He’s shown promise, and is in a good slot in the gate to break prominently and put in an earning run.
Race 7 No2 OCEAN HEIGHTS (Nap)
Trainer: David Pipe – Jockey: Dougie Costello
Bumper winner OCEAN HEIGHTS has settled in well at Pond House, putting up an improved display to chase home Cu Chulainn at Kempton exactly a month ago. The four-year-old should now be fully tuned to go one better in this maiden.
NEWCASTLE – 08/11/2021
Race 2 No9 TRAVELLER (Nap)
Trainer: Antony Brittain – Jockey: Cam Hardie
TRAVELLER put in a third straight earning run when third over course and distance last week. He remains a well treated winner waiting to happen, and can show the this is his D-day.
Race 8 No1 HURSTWOOD (Each Way)
Trainer: Peter Niven – Jockey: Harry Russell
HURSTWOOD looked like a horse coming out of the wilderness when troubling the judge as a 16-1 roughie here last week. The four-year-old is on the cusp of a return to winning ways in the nightcap.
