FFOS LAS – 28/10/2021
Race 4 No8 PIPESMOKER
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: Ciaran Gethings
PIPESMOKER is a fascinating addition to this stable, one whose horses are starting to run into a bit of form. The authorised gelding has shown abundant promise throughout his career and was taking on the cream of the crop when chasing home Chantry House at Cheltenham and Spirting John at Ascot. Pulled-up when last seen in the Grade 1 at Aintree won my My Drogo, he should be backed to make this a belated first win over jumps.
Race 7 No7 COLORADO DOC
Trainer: D Brace – Jockey: Conor Brace
COLORADO DOC had to play second fiddle on consecutive visits here as a novice, and has built on that promise with three subsequent triumphs as a chaser/hurdler. He seems to have benefitted from the addition of a hood, and showed gritty determination to score on seasonal reappearance over hurdles at Worcester.
STRATFORD – 28/10/2021
Race 4 No3 CADZAND (Nap)
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Skelton
Skelton could deliver a 1-2 in this handicap chase, with the very promising CADZAND taken to outpoint Knight In Dubai. Cadzand delivered in three of his five outings over hurdles last season and was sent off favourite for his only run in a handicap, in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury. Though failing to menace in that, he bounced back at Southwell and has subsequently schooled well over fences at home. On this tight track he should be able to utilise to the maximum his impressive turn of foot.
Race 6 No3 RENWICK (Each Way)
Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Jockey: Mr B Sutton
RENWICK hails from a yard that has been amongst the winners, and at the age of just eight could still have something more to offer. He wasn’t able to strike a telling blow in four handicap chases last season, but can leave that form behind with the benefit of a recent wind operation.
LINGFIELD PARK – 28/10/2021
Race 1 No10 WATERLOO SUNSET
Trainer: Denis Coakley – Jockey: Hollie Doyle
WATERLOO SUNSET could have too much scope for his rivals on his first outing in over four months. He sprang an 18-1 surprise on that occasion, and is therefore familiar with both trip and track. Furthermore Doyle is an eye taking jockey booking, as she’s been instrumental in the rise of Coakley’s stable star Nell Quickly.
Race 3 No3 SINGLE
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: George Bass
SINGLE picked up some black type when third in a similar race at Bath in which she was helped by a strong early pace. She carried that good run into a Newbury handicap where she again ran into the money. A captain of industry and credit to her trainer, she again looks carded to pick up a cheque.
Race 6 No2 ALVEDISTON (Nap)
Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: Tom Marquand
New Bay colt ALVEDISTON troubled the judge at Yarmouth when benefitting from a first-time hood. If making normal progress he can open his account for top connections.
CHELMSFORD CITY – 28/20/2021
Race 1 No9 BRIDES BAY (Nap)
Trainer: Richard Hughes – Jockey: George Rooke
BRIDES BAY has shown form on grass and the all-weather, latterly when fourth at Wolverhampton. She appeals as the only bet on a tricky card.
