Neil Morrice covers his tips for Tuesday’s British meetings at Yarmouth, Redcar, Fontwell and Wolverhampton on 14/09/2021.
FONTWELL PARK – 14/09/2021
Race 3: DECORA (Each Way)
Trainer: Sheena West – Jockey: Marc Goldstein
DECORA is the least experienced in this field, but has intertwined running on the Flat with hurdling, and finished third in a Leicester seller when last seen in July. The Conduit filly can be competitive.
Race 7: EBONY GALE (Nap)
Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Jockey: Tom O’Brien
EBONY GALE dominated his rivals when scoring at Worcester back in June. He’s shown he operates well on return from a break, and can follow-up in the colours of Grand National winner West Tip.
REDCAR – 14/09/2021
Race 1: FIREBOMB (Nap)
Trainer: Bryan Smart – Jockey: Graham Lee
FIREBOMB might have found the race coming too quickly when out of the money at Musselburgh back in July, and now returns from a six week gap having been freshened up. He’s been unlucky not to score already, and it’s interesting that connections have chosen to keep him in novice company.
Race 2: MACKENZIE ROSE
Trainer: Mark Johnston – Jockey: Joe Fanning
Dark Angel filly MACKENZIE ROSE is ready to deliver after progressing from race to race in her four career starts. She’s up against a tough opponent in the penalised Smooth Talking, who reacted positively to first time blinkers when scoring at Epsom, and is a big threat.
YARMOUTH – 14/09/2021
Race 1: BONITA B (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: George Bass
BONITA B has put in a number of solid efforts without managing to win, but here’s a good chance for the filly to encounter a change of luck. My Little Tip carries a penalty for his Salisbury success last Friday and could be vulnerable to my selection, giving her 8lb.
Race 6: BOMB PROOF
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Tom Marquand
BOMB PROOF was returning from a three month break when finding only Tyger Bay too strong at Kempton. He should be all the better for that run, and with a top pilot doing the steering is in a good place to go one better.
WOLVERHAMPTON – 14/09/2021
Race 3: UDABERRI
Trainer: Sean Woods – Jockey: Daniel Muscutt
Woods has done well with his juveniles since returning from Hong Kong and his UDABERRI can effectively play the experience card in this maiden. The grey has earned on his last two outings at Sandown and Chelmsford when easy to back, and could know too much for her rivals.
Race 7: ASTRAL BEAT (Nap)
Trainer: William Knight – Jockey: Luke Morris
Paper favourite Pure Charmer has squandered a few chances and preference is for the gradual improver ASTRAL BEAT. The Cotai Glory colt attracted support when troubling the judge at Lingfield last time, having shown that he handles Tapeta on his previous outing at Newcastle. There should be more to come from the selection who might find Dalby Forest his toughest opponent.
