Tottenham

Spurs are so exciting to watch at the moment. They have goals in them, grit in their midfield, creativity behind their striking line, pace upfront and a manager who seems happy to go toe to toe with whoever. How is this the same Spurs side who just a few months ago lacked any degree of confidence and belief? it’s amazing with Big Ange has done in such a small space of time.

I think this side can cause Liverpool serious problems, with the pace and creativity they have upfront, I think those Liverpool defenders will have their hands full on Saturday evening.

In the North London derby, my biggest take-away was the almost visible confidence that was maintained in Big Ange’s side after they went down. So often you see a team start well and stay with their opponents, but if they concede or get put under any sort of pressure they just implode, the plan goes out of the window, heads drop, and it becomes a long day.

At no point did Spurs look to be out of the game and given the quality of player that can complement such a mentality it is no surprise to see them come away from the Emirates with a point.

Liverpool

Much like Spurs, this is a team who have made their name, history, and success on the back of attacking football. Jurgen Klopp has never deterred from that, even when they looked to be a bit disillusioned with their results.

Liverpool will need no second invitation to take the game to Spurs and like their opponents, have the quality of attacking player to put the opponent’s defensive line under pressure.

For the Reds, it is their forwards who will decide the outcome of the game, they can rotate who starts, but what is consistent is the commitment to get into the final third and put pressure on goal. Klopp has lamented over his side’s ability to earn a result at Wolves and again over West Ham when the Hammers had seemingly found a way back into the game.

Liverpool continues to fly under the radar, but I think they are the real threats to City this year – not Arsenal.

Predicted Lineups

Spurs: Vicario, Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie, Sarr, Bissouma, Kulusevski, Maddison, Solomon, Son.

Liverpool: Alisson, Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones, Salah, Nunez, Diaz

Verdict: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals

This game will be won or lost on both teams’ attacking prowess. I suspect it will be an energetic and completely captivating encounter – so you simply have to have some skin in the game on this one!

Both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals seem to me as though it could be the banker for the weekend!
