Los Pumas still have a tricky task of getting out of the pool after their Round 1 defeat to England. They will be on the hunt for a bonus point win here as they look to usurp Samoa into second place on the Pool d standings.

Argentina v Chile
Saturday 30 September
La Beaujoire

Argentina 1/150 | Draw 25/1 | Chile 14/1

The Argentines have been far from their best at the World Cup thus far. Michael Cheika’s men failed to take advantage of their numerical superiority in their opening fixture eventually going down 27-10 to a 14-man England outfit.

They then took on a solid Samoan outfit this past Friday and while they managed to bag a 19-10 victory, they still looked off the pace, and had it not been for Samoa’s poor discipline, the South Americans could well have been out of the running for a quarter-final berth with half the pool phase still left to play.

Chile have also struggled thus far, going down 42-12 to Japan in their opener and then 43-10 to Samoa the six days later. Things got worse for them this past weekend as a rampant English outfit beat them 71-10. This will be their final game of the tournament and they will be looking to end their run on something of a high note.

Chile have really struggled thus far and I can’t see them doing much against a subpar but still dangerous Argentine outfit. Money on Cheika’s men clearing the handicap here.

Verdict: Argentina (-53.5) 10/11
