20/06/2022 – Monday’s Best Bets and Tips

Neil provides us with his best bets and tips for Monday’s race meetings at Chepstow, Southwell and Wolverhamptonon 20/06/2022.

CHEPSTOW – 20/06/2022

Race 1 No6 LARK LANE (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Rose Dawes

There are a couple of recent winners who will occupy a good amount of the betting handle on this, so the value play is LARK LANE, who though well beaten in his three starts this season can take advantage of a drop back in trip.

SOUTHWELL – 20/06/2022

Race 1 No1 PAWPAW
Trainer: Paul Webber – Jockey: Ciaran Gethings

PAWPAW was beaten a long way on his chase debut at Stratford when his jumping left something to be desired. However, he’s been given tuition since that run, and can do better at a price.

Race 7 No7 DUKE OF LUCKLEY (Nap)
Trainer: Martin Keighley – Jockey: Finn Lambert

Course and distance winner DUKE OF LUCKLEY has been given a nice break since his wide margin success. He’s been raised 9lb but is on the upgrade. Follow-up success looks on the cards.

WINDSOR –

Race 3 No7 A SURE WELCOME (Each Way)
Trainer: John Spearing – Jockey: Luke Morris

Veteran trainer Spearing can take out this sprint handicap with A SURE WELCOME. The eight-year-old put in two very solid runs at this course last month and should be forgiven his underwhelming effort in the Dash at Epsom. Now returned to his favourite track he can bounce back.

R6 No4 BLING ON THE MUSIC (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark

Sea The Stars colt BLING ON THE MUSIC may prove a value option against paper favourite La Yakel. His form to finish second to Windseeker at Salisbury was this week given a big boost by Jimi Hendrix, who finished behind him that day but has subsequently won at Haydock and finished third in the red hot Britannia.

WOLVERHAMPTON – 20/06/2022

Race 1 No5 GHOSTLY (Nap)
Trainer: Stella Barclay – Jockey: Miss Becky Smith

GHOSTLY has a great opportunity to strike while the iron’s hot just five days after his resounding success at Hamilton. His trainer has found a weak race for the grey, who can follow-up.

Race 5 No2 DIAMOND RANGER
Trainer: George Boughey – Jockey: Ben Curtis

DIAMOND RANGER has trained well on sand at home and should make this a second success for his Royal Ascot-winning trainer. The Kodiac gelding ran into one when beaten at odds-on last time, but is fancied to bounce back.

Race 7 No10 STREET POET (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Tom Eaves

Although getting longer in the tooth, STREET POET is a frequent earner at this course and has a good draw from which to attack. He’s recently shown a liking for Chelmsford with figures of 2314 from as many starts there, but he’s an eight times scorer at Dunstall Park, and is dangerous getting weight from the entire field.
