The Black Stars of Ghana clash with Uruguay in what should be an interesting encounter following what happened between the two sides in the 2010 World Cup. Ghana was denied a place in the semi-finals after Luis Suarez blatantly handled the ball that would’ve won them the game. Uruguay has looked sluggish so far in Qatar, but this could be the game that gives them a spark since it’s a must-win game.

Otto Addo’s men could make it through the knockout round if South Korea fails to win against Portugal, but with both games playing at the same time, the best way to approach this game will be to go for the win the same way they did against South Korea.
After a disappointing loss to Portugal in the opening game, which was very close to ending as a draw, Ghana claimed full points by sweeping aside South Korea in a spirited second half showing. Uruguay will be more desperate for the points, so, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ghana set up to hit La Celeste on a counterattack, which suits players such as Mohammed Kudus and Inaki Williams, who is still looking for his first goal in Qatar.
However, what will concern Addo is how his side conceded two goals against South Korea, especially the second one. Uruguay is a dangerous side aerially and may unleash both Edinson Cavani and Darwin Nunez upfront.
It’s been a flat start so far for La Celeste in Qatar, with only one point to show after two games. Uruguay is always expected to have a bit of bite in their game, but it’s been non-existent so far. Still, Uruguay has a lot of experience with players like Diego Godin, Luis Suarez and Cavani.
Diego Alonso has probably relied a little too much on his experienced players, but this being the last World Cup for some of them could see them up their level in the final Group H game.
Uruguay is yet to register a goal, despite having some of the best to do it in front of goal. At the same time, their defence will be worried by Ghana’s knack for a goal. The Black Stars have scored five in two games.
This could be the game where Federico Valverde is given a license to join in attack. The Real Madrid player has been one of the best midfielders in Europe this season but is yet to really show his level in Qatar.

I don’t think Uruguay will have enough to walk away with all three points in this game and I’m expecting Ghana to score at least one goal.
